I'm considering one, and would like to run the Holosun 507k, which I think? is compatible, however I believe that I'll need a "plate", can any end users fill in the blanks? Sources for plates? makes? models? etc. I'm not game to do any milling to the slide. Thanks

I haven’t used one personally, but I know a ton of guys swear by the CHPWS plates( C H Precision Weapons), lots of good info on them on YouTube and I know they make plates for the G48 :)

Thanks, ya you're right, it the "best common denominator" however they don't ship to Canada, :(, but they are available on "pre-order" @ Brownells, :)

Still looking for a Canadian dealer that has a CHPWS plate for a G48 MOS. Black Box has 2 versions but both out of stock and the US manufacturer won’t ship to Canada. I’ve heard I can file the nubs on the slide to get a Holosun 507K to fit but would rather do it the proper way before resorting to grinding away.

I run the RMSc that was designed for it and it's perfect with stock height sites and no adaptor plate necessary, pay up front, but no ####ery.

My g48 is on its way. I was hoping to get a mos but didn’t wanna chance missing getting one at all which at this point seems like I made the right call. But now my question is “if money wasn’t a factor would you prefer the mos or getting the slide milled on the regular model (black slide)?

MOS. Don’t care about the optic cut, it has a rail.

The Non MOS 48 can add a full-size rail with a kit from recover Tac. I almost like this better because it allows anything to be mounted with a standard rail instead of just the few things that fit on a MOS Only Rail. I haven't tried one yet so cannot comment on durability but Its a good idea. Review seem ok on them.

The 48MOS rail is a proprietary rail and only certain lights or laser sights will fit on it, unfortunately.

Certainly. But there are good and ever increasing options for it out there.

My point is you can always have a slide milled. Adding a rail, not so much. The rail increases the value of the MOS more than the optic cut.

The only part I disagree with is the value part. In Canada pistols are trending to become worthless.

Or priceless if you want one and can’t get one. But money/value aside. If you knew what optic you wanted and weren’t planning on changing it. Would the mos or milled slide be preferable or are they pretty much equal ? Then the tie going to mos for the option of changing the optical down the road even if you probably weren’t going to.

My thoughts; I chose the MOS because I will eventually put an optic on it but before I do that, it’s just fine out of the box. To get the non MOS milled and ceracoated would be more cost than the difference and you’d have to mail it. No brainer decision for me.

The MOS was manufactured to fit the RMSc (or vice versa) so that’s a drop on option. The Holson 507K uses the CHPWS plate that’s hard to come by lately but the Holosun can be mounted without it according to uTube with a little dremmel work. I’ll decide later

Bullseye had some mos yday but I missed it. Not liking my chances of finding one now. At least I have the non mos coming soon but I think I’d still buy a mos if I found one and have 2 rather than mill the first one

The 48 mos is better then the regular Glock mos. That said right now. Get what you can find. Even or is out of 48s after selling probably 300 over the past week. The days to argue and think about the differences between submodels are long gone.
