Hi,

I'm considering selling a few of my firearms to buy a decent hunting rifle with a scope for those evening hunts.
I'd like to know what would be a fair selling price for my Enfield no4 mk1 1943.
It's not match, I have the mag and a bayonet which I believe is a reproduction, everything works as intended.

Why do you think it is a Long Branch?

It's not a Long Branch but it is wearing a Canadian butt stock.

By 1943, the bolt release would have been a cut out, just before the receiver ring, rather than a bolt release plunger at the rear.

Most bitzers, depending on condition of bore, etc, will fetch at least $650+ when put back to their milspec configuration. More, depending on how well the job was done.

Many of these rifles had their manufacturer stamps, etc scrubbed when going through FTRs, but not all of them.

Long Branch was a town just west of Toronto where Small Arms Limited was located. The rifles made there were marked "LONG BRANCH".
Your rifle is English, although the butt is Canadian.

I'm not telling you what to do but if I were in your shoes, I'd keep the No4 and just get a new or good used hunting rifle. These milsurps will be going up in value a lot more than any commercial hunting rifle.

Agreed but it's not match so I don't think it'll get up much more.
I do plan on having a small collection but now I'm more looking for hunting rifles, new house, baby on the way so if I can fund a hunting rifle with what I got it would be ideal.

As mentioned, it has been made from parts of other rifles.

The cues are no magazine, and the bolt serial number is 90L###x from a Canadian made rifle and the rifle serial number don't match. That said, it has full wood, an early machined back sight, and full length barrel. The value is less than $1000 but more than $500. The bayonet is probably a spike, and they're not worth more than $25 even if part of a set.

I have the mag, bayonet is a short blade.

The predominant wartime bayonet was a spike. Postwar bayonets were blades. You might have more in value in that than you think. Mags are running $60 to $100 loose. https://www.milsurps.com/showthread.php?t=4601

The bayonet I have is no7 on the link you posted.
again I have the mag it simply isn't shown on the picture.
I took other picture for someone who was interested.
From what I see the stock has the C tripod.

Any idea what I could ask for it?

Good Grief, quit fixating on the pennies and sell the darn thing.

Put a price on it, with all the accessories around $750 and see who bites.

Negotiation is part of the fun and expect it to happen. If you can't handle just pricing your rifle, how do you intend to handle the actual sale???
