Pretty sad to see so many giving in to Turdo's scare tactics, its exactly what he wants.:bangHead: We need to buy more handguns and keep them! You think the next government will undo the lib actions on "gun control"?

Any government that overturns prohib ARs or overturns handgun imports is finished as the Toronto soccer mom vote wins elections. (that's if you think government is elected)
 
I think this will be overturned and soccer moms in the metro dont vote anything but leftist... just push them to vote ndp next time... they are getting hit where it hurts the most these days... their ex husband's bank account
 
You think people are dumping their handguns? Maybe some are. But I think a lot of people are spreading the wealth. I know way more people who are buying their first handgun so that they have one.
 
Not handgun-related, but I just bought 20 rounds of centerfire ammo at my LGS, and the total cost of the 20 rounds was almost 1/4 of what I paid for the rifle about a decade ago. The rifle itself is probably (now) worth about 3x what I paid for it, but it's purchase price was bouncing around my head causing some indecision as I was digging out the debit card. Also paid (reluctantly) over $17/100 for some BR4 primers because THERE they were...and who knows if they'll be there next time I am.

Been at this sport pretty heavy for the last 33 years or so and quite frankly, I've never seen things in such bad shape.

Do I think the Conservatives will undo allot of this damage? Not sure, but I'm relatively sure it won't be their top priority.
 
I’ve sold a few because they’re not ones I want to keep forever, assuming this nonsense is here to stay,but have bought others to replace them as well as a few more for good measure. So I’m in the net positive zone.

I agree no future government will undo any of this, the best we can hope for is some sort of 12.x scenario where it’s amended to at least let us sell to each other and/or leave our own properly to our kids.

The next government needs to launch an education campaign on firearms and explain to the public all the misinformation that was previously shoveled down their throats in order to ban "assault weapons" and stop handgun transfers. At the same time they need to outline how they will actually be taking meaningful action against illegal firearms.
 
The OP is making blanket cliche statements and really doesn't know what he's talking about when it comes to the current private and retail handgun sales.
 
Bottom lie: A majority of Canadians hate guns and don't have a problem with the gov't's way of gun control.

There certainly are some who are trying to get out of handguns altogether, but there’s also a lot buying everything they can, and a lot that are trying to sell so they can rejig their collection for the long term and have the cash to do so.

Thats my struggle. I have 2 "baby" framed 22 handguns that I was planning on handing down to the kids but if they can never have them, I might sell them to fund a classic piece. But then if the laws don't change or are changed later, I'm out those guns. I could afford to stockpile but I have other money plans at the moment.

Tough call. But there are definitely more guns on the market and being bought up, they are definitely not going away.

Sales - means they're going to new owners. Not disappearing off the face of the earth. Guys with collections of 40 guns are selling them off down to 5 prize possessions, so there's 35 new gun owners (potentially) rather than less gun owners.

we do not need a governemnt to tell us what to do, gun orgs ruling by us should take care of that part and of course being harsh on illegal firearms trade and use but this is what they are doing right now?

Why cant they? Keep them. Once you're gone... you are gone, so make' sure they get them. Pretty Simple.

Sad? BS, maybe a few are dumping their guns, the ones I know about, are as said, clearing out extra guns , but still have a few, and new stock, There where a lot of new stock that came into this country before the cut off, and a lot larger number of those are sold to new shooters that never had handguns before, and some are buying everything they can get their hands on.
Th ones that are not really moving fast are the hi end 22 target pistols, but anything in 38, 9mm and up can't keep in stock
Crime control?, nothing to do with it , it is all about votes and feel good .As someone said , most people just don't give a damn, but it sounds good on CBC, CTV is just as bad.
 
Lol in order to sell a handgun, someone else has to buy it. There can't possibly be fewer handguns in the hands of Canadians if many of them are selling them, genius. I'd also be willing to bet that many of these guns are going from people that have many, to people looking for their first, thus increasing the number of Canadians that own guns. Either way, nothing about what you just said makes sense.
