So I was receintly able to score myself a LH swede. :D

I had receintly bought at a sale norma unprimed cases, 40 of them.

Wondering how's the quality of the brass?
 
Excellent brass.
I bought 3 boxes (60) when I purchased my first Swede. Most of it has been reloaded 20 + times with mid range jacketed loads. Have not lost one case yet.

Took me awhile to get one of my own.(Sako 85 Hunter - very accurate out of the box with factory ammo)

You' also like the Norma brass; very good brass.
Have gotten many reloads out of mine with minimal stretching or other issues...but I do not exceed loading data for modern firearms.
Also reloaded Norma cases from factory ammunition too; same results.

I load that brass to the nuts in my Tikka T3.

2800+fps, with 140 grain bullets over IMR7828 and magnum primers.

I re anneal the cases after 4 firings and I've got at least a dozen reloads on the original 60 cases I use.

The quality of that brass is every bit as good as Lapua.

I believe the old Gevelot brass cases used to be made up by Norma as well??
 
Some of the first lots of 6.5x55 Norma brass were a bit on the soft side, but I have not seen that issue in 3
or more decades. I like Norma brass, and of course, my 308 Norma Mag uses it exclusively. Dave.

Dave, please don't tell my Norma or Gevelot brass, some of which is well over 40 years old such things.

I have been using 40+ year old Norma cases (yes, they are a bit soft) in my 6.5x55 and other chamberings since I purchased them 40+ years ago.

I've lost a few cases, but nothing due to the softness of the brass.

What I do find is that if I don't reanneal it after four firings, it gets very hard.

They were good for appx 6 firings in the Swede Mausers, but pressures were a lot lower and I don't have any left.

In my T3 and a Voere, which I load 140 grn bullets to 2800+ fps, out of 22 inch barrels, four firings is it.

Congratulations! I know you have been looking for a while!!! If it works as good as my right hander, you will be very happy! If you are scoping it, you may need windage adjustable scope mounts. I ran out of windage adjustment on my scope. These inexpensive Weaver rings did the trick for me; got them from Shooter's Choice in Waterloo Ont, but I think you can find them almost everywhere.

I have quite a selection of brass; Norma is very good quality, but I have not found one particular make that is longer or shorter lived. I use Lee Collet dies; brass will require less trimming, remain more concentric. Since I switched to these from my old RCBS set, brass has been lasting longer. I only resize once, then only neck size. All three of my rifles have no issue chambering this brass. Chambers must be fairly consistent.
