Ontario CFO - Restricted transfer times

did 3 restricted transfers in Dec... 2 were over 2 1/2 weeks and one was 3 1/2 when I called to ask if they were approved. Some guy approved them for me while I was talking to him on the phone. Who knows how much longer it would've been if I didn't call....

Transfered a CZ75 last Wed and got the approval the following Thurs. Thats 9 days and thats been typical of all of my transfers over the past years. Never had one take more than 3 weeks and that was for a non-restricted. Go figure.

Maybe its my good looks:p

Wow, I bought 2 last week.. glock cleared in 3 days... P7 in about 4!

All online orders though (which is the only way I buy).. I think waiting for the temp ATT is a time killer.

WOW. I've bought 7 guns in the last 5 weeks from ONT, BC, SASK and AB and the longest transfer time was about 5 days. Is the hold up with the CFO or with the provincial branch office??

The backlog is in Orillia... And from what I understand dealer to person transfers are processed differently and often go much faster.... person to person transfers are the slow ones.. thats what I am waiting on...

My last one from a dealer outside Ont. took 5 weeks,it just shipped this week. I just bought another pistol from an Ont. dealer and it was approved and shipped within 8 days. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it.

Questar, Wolverine, TSE, etc...

Thanks Robstar.

Last restricted I bought was from was from P&D Enterprises, and it took between 6-8 business days. This was in late November.

Before that, I bought my M&P from Target Sports in late October and it took about 5-7 business days from when they called in the transfer.

P229SAS from P&D about 6 months ago... Gun was in my hands 5 business days from the day I ordered it.
686 from TSE about 2 months ago... in my hands 5 business days from the day I ordered it.
Walther P22 from Frontier one month ago... took about 15 business days.
SA 1911 private transfer, 20 business days... ordered one month ago.

I don't know if its just my luck, or the time of the year, but its getting a LOT slower for me.

I received a handgun (private sale) that took just over 4 weeks for the transfer to be approved. I do believe if you have a LTATT it will speed things up.
