G4C Just Got In Limited Numbers of the HK SL8-5 and SL8-4 - GREAT PRICE

I guess if there's any saving grace, Canada gets the double stacked mags, even though they are blocked to 5-rounds (US mags apparently are single stacked). I bought the mags when they were available a year or so ago, hoping that I would see the rifle come in one day...I believe this one will come with a mag, which is a bit of a relief as they are $90 + tax each...but are double stacked...

There are a couple of mag well conversions that allow you to use AR mags. Very simple to change. Pull out one or two pins, swap mag wells, replace the pins. I believe Spuhr makes one and maybe NEA.

Sweet!!!! Thanks for the tip! I am gonna check it out.

Maybe I am more traditional , or I am just getting older ; but some of these newer rifles remind me of space guns . Maybe that is why the TV shows Longmire and Yellowstone appeal to me .

Agree...I got the Kriss Vector NR 18.6" originally due to it's space gun look...the novelty on that wore off quick as the thing was just bulk and heavy and I sold it earlier in the summer. The vectoring system on a 9mm non-full auto was really a non-factor, but the thing over time became just a mass of bulk with that elephant trunk shroud thing which I never grew on me.

I got an SKS earlier this summer and never though I would enjoy a 1953 rifle as much as I do that thing - it just went out with me to my club this afternoon and it is always a hoot to shoot. Sometimes simplicity is all one needs...

That is a really good price. They are not the prettiest but they are a treat to shoot. Thanks for the heads up gazelle. I grabbed one of the short rails.

Same here my friend! I was debating between the two but I think the short rail version appeals to me more...G4C is great for carrying these...I have seen so few retailers stock these as of late...everytime I go in there I ask Tank if any have come in...he knows I have been chomping at the bit to see these come in. It is funny because I contacted North Sylva last year and they said they don't expect them to be in until 2023 at the earliest, but even then they weren't sure since it looks like HK was really not focussed as much on the consumer market. I am curious how many they got in. Because I was monitoring this after I bought mine and saw the the number kept going down and then back up on the short rails...so maybe the store is adding a few more at a time as they are selling them. The short rail one definitely seems to be more popular.

I had one once. Sold it and regret it considering the position we're all in at the moment. My SL8-4 was incredibility accurate. Sub moa at 300 yards with handloads. I didn't get around to testing it further sadly. Ugly, terrible ergonomics but a very accurate platform.

Price is good
But those are the ugliest pieces of crap I’ve ever laid eyes on.
Must be Commiefornia compliant.

Nothing to do with California as this gun was sold years before those restrictions. It was to comply with German laws so the rifles could be sold directly to civilians. If HK was legally allowed to sell the g36 as designed to the civilian market, they would have.

For those who ordered one of these, just an FYI...G4C has advised me that these should arrive in the store this coming Friday. I would suspect notifications for pickup/shipping will happen then.

I must be the odd one. I love how these guns look. The thumbhole ergonomics I’ll admit aren’t ideal for running and gunning, neither is the front heavy nature of this gun. But I have yet to shoot another out of the box non custom semi auto that touches this for accuracy. And if you shoot off a bench or prone the thumbhole ergos become a bit of a non issue imo, but that’s just me.

True North Arms is showing the same rifle, im both -4 and -5 versions, and for a hundred bucks less. Their ad and website seem to be a bit confusing, as they indicate that one of these versions is equipped for Stanag magazines. Anybody can confirm or deny that detail?

I played with one of these a long time ago. Very accurate for a gas gun and soft recoil. Would have made a fantastic coyote gun but for one thing, the thumbhole stock.

I wanted very much to like this rifle but that stupid thumbhole grip is completely the wrong size for my hand. I had to break my grip and rotate the rifle to operate the controls. It's too bad HK never ditched the thumbhole and put a proper pistol grip on it. Would be a complete game changer for me.
