I've been out twice now, casually with my family. I haven't seen anything yet not even a road hunter. We stumbled across three butchered deer carcasses in a pile with the antlers still on. They were a 2,3, and 4 point whitetail. I thought it was a bit strange but hopefully legally harvested.

I'm going out again in a few days. My kids are having fun so I'm trying to focus on that instead of just filling the freezer.

I really wanted to get out on the opening day. but haven't been feeling too good as of late. getting better slowly .need to have full strength again to climb those ridges.

Whenever I booked time off for work to hunt I always ended up being sick. It was such a joke my wife started asking if I was taking a week off to be sick.

Leaving tomorrow for 8 days for moose… canoe trip!

Good luck!

I was able to get a 33 yard, severe downhill shot on this mule deer this Sept.1

My kids are 4 years, 2 years, and 4 months old. My oldest was pissed off he didn't get to shoot and cut up a deer to eat. My 2 year old calls deer mountain meat. Kind of funny.

Was out last sat & wed with the bow evening hunting, stuck 3 ruffed grouse.
Wed at near last light I had a WT yearling doe strolling around 15 yards in front of me for 5 minutes while I was sitting on a log.
I moved around, stood up, it couldn't care less that I was there, nibbling around, would just watch me as I moved around.
I have 3 WT tags, yet somehow it knew I wasn't interested at that particular time, lucky little veal :)

You are a lucky dad. My son is now too busy at university this time of year to hunt with me nowadays. Hopefully in a few years when he is done school, I can get him back out in the bush again. Enjoy the kids while you can.

I'm glad they are showing an interest. I didn't start hunting with my dad until I was 18 and lost him in my early 30s. My wife doesn't understand why I keep some ugly antlers but each one is a story with him I remember vividly.

Years ago I had a 2 point mule deer damn near sniff my hand the day before it was legal. I shot him and punched my tag for the next day. Just kidding, I didn't shoot him and unfortunately didn't even see another deer that season.

I have to house sit my inlaws place outside of Kelowna for three weeks. They usually have white tail doe walking through their yard daily I'm hoping I can get one when the season opens.

I'll be mule deer hunting with my son on Tuesday. We need to wait for the weekenders to all leave after this long weekend.

I've been out a few times but only see does and fawns unless I don't have my rifle and then I see a few of the local bucks that hang out.

Really we are waiting for the fire ban to be off so we can go camping/hunting for a few nights at Lost Lake. My son is is most 6

Me and my 11 year old daughter were successful on our mid Aug Fly in/out Goat hunt.

This morning - September 18th. Left home at 7:00 am in the heavy fog. Hit my favorite skid trail at about 8:00 and walked 400 yards and saw a big cow with this young guy following her.
My BSA chambered for 338-06. 175 yards hard quartering away. 210 TTSX @ 2750 fps traveled the length of the moose and lodged under the off shoulder.
Moose went 30 yards and dropped. I was able to get the pickup to within one winch cable length plus 10 feet of rope.;) LoL
