Drew NR trophy antelope this year for WMU’s 116, 119, 124, 148. Gonna have a cpl days at best of scouting which I wish I had more…. If anyone has any tips for some good starting spots I don’t mind putting miles on the boots. Cheers
Save yer boots from the cactus for the actual hunt...many miles on your hunting vehicle with numerous stops to glass from any vantage point available will give you a much better idea where to go on opening morning. Pay very close attention to those "white rocks" you see off in the vast distance you will be glassing....they are probably antelope ass's that will start moving sooner or later.
I have hunted the Manyberries & Etzicome areas and agree with JJ. Lots of antelope & wasn't hard to get permission from some very large landholders...dont smoke or throw butts-ashes around when talking to landowners in any of that area....their all terrified of prairie grass fires and if you smoke you aint getting permission.
Bout 30 yrs ago I drove a liner load of rail grade cows through a herd of 40 or so on the highway between Hanna & Brooks (2 am n darker n a crow)...sure wasnt good driving on my part that I didnt touch a hair, they just parted like the red sea
