Just in, a NIB Government .45. I've had several Springfield M1911A1's but I always wanted a COLT. This pistol came from the states, threw Questar. It's super-accurate with tight groupings at 25 yards with ease.

I ordered the grips of ebay (Official COLT Medallions) It came with plain double dimond. It's a reproduction SERIES 70, and it feeds anything you feed it. It has the new design feedramp on the barrel.

Those are very nice grips & your new Colt is a very nice looking piece with them on it. If you want to make it look more 'authentic' there are lots of Colt checkered medallion grips without the double diamonds.... Here's my Series 70 Gold Cup with an original pair on....

Nice Colt. I've been thinking about bringing one in as well but I've been holding out for the original. They are out there but 99% of them are butchered or hacked into a race gun. I thought I had a line on one until the guy traded it before offering it to me. That repro is probably a better built gun then the original I'm told. Just something really cool about the real thing.

I have an original Series 70 but unfortunately its not for sale :)

I'm still going to bring a Series 70 repro through Questar though.

There is something about 1911's that you can't have enough of them.

you too, huh?mine's a nickel in 45acp- tricked out pretty good now, but i still have the finger bushing- i could tell that was a repro from one look at the serious number

From what I've heard about how the series 70's were built I'd go with the repro. Sounds like the bugs are already ironed out and it IS still a Colt.
There's no reason dealers can't bring them in up here except availability I would guess.

order a colt series 70 combat slide. the sights are a lot better than standard sights. I have had colt series 70's since they were introduced.

Closest thing I've got to a Series 70 is a minty 1968 mfg Colt Government. Another of the elusive Colts that you rarely see these days untouched. Bottom in the pic:
