Where to get a 1/2x20 to 5/8x24 barrel thread adapter for a .308 rifle?

I have a Steyr Scout in .308 WIN. I was hoping to mount a muzzle break to but found out that the threading is not the standard 5/8x24 threading but rather instead threaded in 1/2x20. Is there anywhere in Canada selling a thread adapter for this or will I have to try and source something from the US if I'm not prohibited by ITAR from doing so? Or maybe have something custom made?

I don't know of any...

A gunsmith should be able to make you one. It could be as easy as drilling and tapping a 1/2x20 thread in a 5/8x24 bolt...

1/2-20 is a European muzzle thread. You won't find anything 1/2-20 in the USA. All the US made rifles and accessories will be 1/2-28.

Yeah, I know it is a European thread pattern I was just looking for a thread adapter like this one:
https://steyr-arms.com/us/tac-scoutadapter

I know they are available in the US but due to ITAR rules I don't know if I can import so I was curious if anyone carried them in Canada. I checked every place I know of and it seems no one carries them.

I make custom brakes and can use any thread you like.

Those look really good. If I'm unable to find an adapter I'll be in contact. Thanks!

Lies..

1/2-20 is very common. Plus 1/2" isnt European. Looking at a steel 1/2-20 to 5/8-24 adapter made right in Michigan. Popped up on the 2nd result to a search.

Don't be so harsh...

England, just as the rest of the UK, is located in the continent of Europe.

And in England where Parker Hale produced thousands of .22 suppressors, the thread was 1/2 x 20 tpi. Thousands of rifles throughout Europe had muzzles threaded 1/2 x 20.

Really? Well you try and buy a 1/2-20 muzzle device in the USA and see how that goes for you.

Well big difference in buying from the states and getting it and saying good luck as you wont find anything in America in that size. A simple search found 3 web sites within the first page with made in the USA 1/2-20 - 5/8-24 adapters. Americans love their suppressors and tones of airguns are in that thread. I got a couple threaded in it. Plus you can get muzzle brakes in 1/2-20.

Buying a threaded adapter isn't illegal.

Well 2 second google search he would found websites selling made in the US adapters in the thread he said you won't find. That not being harsh.

Yes I'm wrong about it being not European. But still bolts, nuts, adapters in that thread are still quite common in the states.

That adapter you comment on comes from China. You can get it for like 3$ from aliexpress. Also ones made in stainless.
