Can a store keep my fully transferred handgun from me

Yes because if its 3 or 5 dollars both parties should be ashamed. So many people not doing ok in this world right now and that would be petty.

And at the end of the day, the business is still wrong.

The customer has nothing to be ashamed of. It's the principle. You are rewarding bad behaviour.

Sure sounds like Tenda. They keep trying to add a remote location fee to each of my orders even though no other company has ever done this. Their "free shipping" policy is bupkis.

Thats the problems..there is no ´agreed on free shipping’…at time of purchase.
With the long transfer delays, my guess is the ‘shipping will be established at time of shipping » is more likely the scenario. It may also like ‘dealer reserve the right to change shipping policy anytime’.
The OP should go read or see what the clauses said at the time of buying.

I am sure there is more of this story than just the OP’s position and sayings.
That kind of stuff should be done over the phone with the dealer..he will not achieve anything here in my views.

Maybe you should go read the OP’s post. It’s got nothing to do with shipping, it’s insurance that he paid for in full but the company has switched shipping companies and they now want more insurance money.

Wild azz speculation doesn’t help…

Doesn't tenda still have free shipping for orders over $300?

Yes but they also have had a shipping policy for a ling time that says (I paraphrase) If the shipping is going somewhere remote or is big or heavy then there may be additional charges.

I've ordered lots of ammo from Tenda, often 4-10 1000 round cases at a time. I'm a little "remote" as I'm about 2 hours from a major city. I make the order, they say it's gonna be a bit extra over the free shipping to your location. Like $9. I say ok, no worries. It's still less expensive than ordering from many other places and my order is thousands of $. To some people $9 is a lot of money. To me, it's not so I don't care. YMMV

Because there's always some idiot that gets sucked in with their cheap prices, orders one case of ammo and has it delivered with no issues, and posts a review saying "Tenda's customer service is amazing!" (Despite not really receiving any) which cancels out any negative press they get.

Took the words right out of my mouth. Perfectly put.

Tenda doesn't have customer service. They have low prices, high volume of sales, and a lottery where we all get to try our luck. Each customer is entered as soon as they hit the confirm order button.

I swear I said Tenda out loud the second I finished reading the OP.

Never again............well maybe just once more.

Maybe you should read the FIRST post.

I am in a good mood, so let's summarize:

The shipping cost will be determined at the time of order. Have you ever ordered online?

Before you could decide which shipping company to use when placing an order with Tenda. Now it only gives you 3 options, all with UPS.

1. Pay the rate displayed without insurance.
2. Chose free shipping - applies to orders above $300 - But they are not able to display if your order goes to a remote location since UPS only serves certain areas, unlike Canada Post, so UPS hands it over to another carrier - which you have to pay after Tenda contacts you with the costs after you ordered.
3. Add shipping insurance to 1. or 2. - actually very cheap at $1/$100.

I assume the following happened here:

The customer ordered a handgun and chose Canada Post as shipper. He is in a remote location and now Tenda can only ship via UPS, wants the customer to pay.

Tenda's edge is really the free shipping. Luckily I am in a location which is fully serviced by UPS, so everything above $300 is free shipping, amazing deals.

Saves you a lot of money.

Unfortunately Tenda is unable to offer a seamless transition.

They should just fulfill their transition orders (which we have here) as per agreement plus incorporate a computer solution for remote customers together with UPS.

I have dealt with Tenda before, I still order ammo, the rest they can keep.

It’s the principle OP fully paid and I’m sure CC is charge and money already in tenda hand.
Now they are holding his pistol for ransom. Not the best way to do business

I originally posted this in the pistol thread but apparently it has been moved to the Tenda thread now so I feel I need to clarify a few things because of this change. I did not mention Tenda in my first post I just asked a question about ownership but it became very apparent from the posts people just said Tenda on their own which goes to show this is not an isolated incident and their business practices are well know so I did confirm later it was Tenda.

So here it is more of an explanation I was looking for a CZ P-07 and so I made the purchase from Tenda as they had them in stock at the time. I paid fully on my credit card and chose UPS as the shipper as I at the exact same time had also purchased a CZ P-10SC from another store in Ontario using UPS ( YES I really like CZ pistols )
$879.99 - P-07
Free Shipping
$9.09 - Insurance
$44.00 - GST

I fully paid $933.08 for the P-07 and the sale as completed and the transfer initiated, Fast forward ahead to after approval of transfer and we then come to the issue. Tenda sends me a message that they have changed the shipping from UPS to Canada Post and that I must either wave shipping insurance and ship $1000 purchase uninsured or give them an additional $15 or they will cancel the sale. I replied that I had already paid for insurance and they had switched the shipping company not me so in my mind they should make up for the difference on their end especially how they had already increased the price of the P-07 quite a bit from what they were selling them for only 6 months earlier I felt it was on Tenda not me.

They messaged me back saying UPS does not ship to my city of 70,000 people in Alberta and I have to pay the $15 or decline insurance, Now as I previously said I had also purchased a P-10SC from another store and that transfer also went through at the same time and that store was shipping using UPS and that shipment went through and they gave me the tracking number for the shipment so I messaged Tenda saying that UPS does indeed ship to my city as I currently have a P-10SC being shipped to me at this very moment. Today I have my P-10SC in my possession as UPS did in fact deliver it to me with no issues at all

Tenda then again told me to decline shipping insurance or pay an additional $15 or they will cancel the sale revoke my registration and resell the P-07 and I had till monday to decide or they would revoke my ownership. At this point is when I contacted the Ontario CFO and we had multiple discussions but to boil it all down to this from the head boss CFO, There is no legal requirement for the exchange of money in regards to transferring firearm ownership and any money issues is a civil matter that they will not get involved in. The P-07 was legally transferred to me and is registered to me and that is their position on the matter. A store can reverse registration if it is the buyer who is the one who cancels the sale and returns the firearm to the stores ownership but in this case I am not canceling the sale and giving up my ownership and that is were the real difference is in regards to having a store "take back" a firearm.

Now I know its $15 and paying it would have prevented a lot of issues however with that being said my position is that I have done nothing wrong here I already overpaid for a handgun that 6 months ago they were selling at a much lower price and making their profit and I did pay already $9 for full insurance and the fact their position was pay us or else we take your gun and just resell it and there is nothing I can do really really ticked me off so that is why I am not giving in to basically extortion / kidnapping and just paying more to Tenda.

Well that hopefully clarifies some things

I know it's the principal and all, and I'd likely be pissed at first too, but depending on the amount, and more importantly how the extra money was requested would likely affect my overall shopping experience...
That said, after a few years going gun show to gun show selling a collection from one of my dad's deceased friends, I'll say this:. If there is one group of people cheaper that Volkswagen owners, it has to be gun owners.

Sounds like the people at Tenda are a bit on the edge. I would like to hear their part of the story but looking at the about 100 stickies above this thread, this will never happen. They will just make this a sticky as well and hope it will go away, always entertaining. Personally I would just let them cancel the transaction and haunt them for a while.

That's what I am doing actually. I had similar experiences with them, similar in regards to "in which world are you living?"

To the poster above with his Volkswagen example. You are also a funny person. The poster already said that it is NOT about the money.

So Tenda is holding you up for $15-$9.09 or is the total $24?

For $15 I would pay and bad mouth them everywhere and not do business with them again. They will lose a lot more than $15 over their stupidity.

Basically can post insurance is now 2.50/100. So basically they charged you the difference in insurance to ship it can post insured...???? Or was it can post uninsured?

Personally, I wouldn't ship uninsured, and at that price I believe it's mandatory for 1.99 signature, and proof of age.

I wouldn’t pay them one red cent more. Everyone saying they would pay and then ##### about it on the internet is the problem with society these days… maybe a Facebook smear campaign?? Lol
Good for you! They’ll ship it sooner or later unless they enjoy dealing with the cfo.

Total Drama Thread .. like watching that (ball bonds/sheriff/ special agent) repo show running on tv.
Get your gun! You’ll waste more $$ sighting it in.

Unbelievable how many pushovers there are on this thread. Although I guess I shouldn't be surprised since so many people are Tenda apologists who can't even fathom the idea that even though they haven't had an issue with Tenda, other people have.

Also unbelievable that Tenda hasn't nuked the thread already.

cool seems you have a reading issue. many inlude myself had reverse ownership before shipping. nothing new here once the firearms is at home that is different ...

Cool.....seems you're full of it. Even the CFO has said once the Transfer has been completed, it can't be reversed by the seller.f:P:2:
