Your favorite ridiculous handgun price!

I think at this point it is turning into a buyers market. Many have rounded out their collections or have just exhaused their funds. There are a lot of reasonably, albeit inflated priced handguns that are getting quite a few BTT's. Pistol are just not moving like they were 3 weeks ago.

I kind of figured that initial flurry would die down, and then the market would almost reverse to an extent- People with extra pistols that didn't sell them while things were nuts will start to realize that they might be stuck with them, unable to sell them if they don't soon, and the people that were panic buying for mental prices will have done so already. Bunch of extra pistols on the market with the 'new gun owner desperate for a glock' people not looking anymore, prices come down. Might not happen that way, we'll see I guess. Lol

just a matter of time ...

The theory that retail and private sale prices would both drop as we approached October made sense but does not seem to have occurred. The Gun Dealer reduced prices on some consignment guns but have not seen any other real price drops from stores. ####### prices also still seem inflated. Interesting.

Retailers are clearing them out right now. Just look at SFRC. They had a 12 hrs flash sale, which they ended up extending. They just blew out their FMK stock at about 20% off and now they are clearing out the Romainian TT33's and the Beretta 1951 at 15% to 20% off. Next it will be the remaining Norinco's and Jericho's and then finally the CZ's and Shadow System's (thats when I'll pull the trigger on the MR920 lol). The Consignment guns mean nothing to retailers as they typically don't set the price or have the gun registered to them. Rather they just let it sit in the display case and then take 20% off the top when it sells.

I think the reason that we're not really seeing big price drops yet, is that there is no solid deadline for the when transfers would be cut off. If we ever get a known cutoff date, the last few days we'll see huge price drops IMHO.

There is really also not a lot left out there. CZ P09/P07s, the usual 'junker' guns like the surplus TTs, Berettas, et al, the Canik's, the .22 SA revolvers and a few others that really no one has interest it.

Not a handgun - but something you need to use the handgun - oh and you need your RPAL in order to purchase......

Safe to assume Oct 4 is likely, first possible date for OIC and no real reason to wait

Certainly a sellers market for regular folks but maybe not for the gougers and over priced wankers ...

cant wait to see how a gouger or wanker im lol ...

I just saw a G21.4 go for $2600 and a Ruger MKIV lite go for $2150 at the SFRC auctions. WOW.

Right!!!

What is with people and auctions. A Beretta 92s that could be bought for $549 and several places sold for over $6-900, plus 15% buyers premium plus tax plus shipping.. Chiappa 1873 .22 revolver that were selling for just over 200 are selling at auctions for almost $460. Plain pump shotguns you can order from Cabelas for under $300 selling for $450. It is ducking insane

Ridiculously LOW: $400US for a hand-tuned 1911.

How this happened: At the time 20 years ago, a buddy in the Boeing Gun Club had participated in a BGC "Build Your Own 1911" class. For some reason he became obsessed with whatever Glock's newest solution-looking-for-a-problem was back in '02, an his wife told him "wanna buy a new gotta sell an old"--so I bought his build-class 1911 for the price of a new Glock and he threw in a top-to-bottom tuneup getting it into Duty Ready condition.

It's rode my hip almost the entire two decades since, a more faithful and trustworthy companion than most people. Sometimes God takes really good care of you... :)

I was trying to buy one of the Rossi 12ga Shotguns that are registered as handguns that can have the barrels cut down to 4.25" in that auction today. The same guy bought 16 of the 17 that were available.

I did end up bidding him up to over $1000 on a whole bunch of them specifically to make him pay more than he needed to.

I just wanted one of them to complete my collection to have a 12ga handgun, but I couldn't get a single one because this guy's going to try to resell 15 of them.

He's going to be stuck with them. The door is almost closed. Sometime next week Mendicino is going to enact the no transfer to individuals change to the regulations and the bidder is going to have paid $15,000 for a pile of shotguns he cannot move.

Unless he's in a province with quick transfers, I'm hoping he's in Ontario and just screwed himself over.

Doesn't matter what province he lives in. Tomorrow is a federal holiday so the federal CFOs won't be at work. Even if he's lucky enough to have the transfers done Monday he won't have time to flip them.

Looks like it will come Oct 4. Can watch it on TV. If I understand it correctly, all they have to do to put in the regulatory change is agree at this meeting, and get the governor general to sign on their recommendation.

The Beretta really grew on my in the last week so I started checking them out.
I ended up "winning" a Beretta 92F at yesterday's auction. 800$ +buyer's premium and taxes totals 1050$ hahah..
I paid an extra 500$ for a squared off trigger guard.
At least it's a nice Italian vintage and I haven't seen a lot of 92F around in the last recent days.

With the threat of the hammer fall next week, Looks like SFRC is going to try one more short run handgun auction closing on the 3rd. Will be interesting to see what prices are paid at auction and online stores in the final days of handgun sales in Canada. Lots of btt on the EE. I think some private speculators are about to get caught with a stack of guns they never wanted to keep as everyone stays away on principal on the gougers.

Fire sales or crazy high?????
