Am I a weakling? 44mag

A "QC thing" you say ? I don't know what a "QC thing" is but I suppose that you do. Awesome. Really awesome.

From now on, may you never lose sight of the front sight of your pistol. As for me, I always do my very best to never to lose sight of my front sight - when things get rough.

Nice chat.

Well, I did not. Of course, I did not. Colonel Jeff Cooper did. Some reading could help you. The expression trigger cocking mode with a "Double Action" revolver is pretty old now.

You have some reading to do.

So one person says it that way and now we all should know? Considering its advertised by every firearm company as double action, it's in every firearm manual as double action, it's in PPC rules as double action. IPSC and IDPA as DA, didnt Jeff help start IDPA?

Oh yeah and one of Jeffs book has a section on Double Action.

Oh you got some reading to do if you dont know QC is Quebec.

I was finally able to find some ammo for my new to me Smith and Wesson 629 6 inch. Firing of one round is unpleasant, the second round is borderline painful, and the third round simply hurts. No more, thank you.

Am I a weakling, is this normal, or is Callahan a monster?

The 44 Magnum is not pleasant to shoot, kicks like hell. I use a batting glove (right hand) for better grip, also helps to protect the skin. The 44 Special ammo is much more pleasant to shoot, kind of like the 357 Magnum.

You seem to have been well acquainted with Colonel Cooper because you are talking about him on a first name basis. If you had met him in person, you would have known right from the start that he did not take too keenly to be called "Jeff" by total strangers. People around him would have told you - clearly. So, you must have known him pretty well, no ?

And now some reading for you who already know all there is to know about "Double Action" revolvers and semi-automatic pistols:

To Ride, Shoot Straight, and Speak the Truth, Jeff Cooper, 1988, pages 114-120, The Management of the Double-Action Auto. A book published more than thirty years ago.

Do you see the expression trigger-cocking somewhere in that chapter ? Can you read it ?

Honestly I could care less. Jeff, Mr Cooper, whatever he wants to be called. You're using a term that nobody else uses, that you think they should and if not tell them they need to be educated. Why? To make yourself sound more knowledgeable than others? Nobody else is agreeing with you.

But they also probably used the term clip back then, doesnt mean they are right.

Just ignore than guy... you can't tell a guy from QC anything. They know it all.

OkayShooter,

Get the book. Read the chapter. Report back. Know what you are talking about.

How about no Scott..

Even if he said it, he still refers them as DOUBLE ACTION revolvers. Its single action, double action. Not trigger control mode revolver.

When you did your RPAL course did you correct the instructor? To tell him it's a trigger control mode revolver?

Maybe you won't believe me but I am having a hell of a fun writing in this thread ... I think it's too easy and I know that I will have to stop posting. Soon. Too bad.

fun is fun until 'they' read this and come for your guns (and your 'boys' so this non-sense can't be passed down lol)

I shoot my 500 s&w one handed just for fun and I’m light
