Same reason they made the 19X, to try and score a millitary contract. Sell a ton of them and make money
That is if its even real, but their patents/design he shows and talks about seem to be following military contract demands
Maybe I can't count but the guy says it has 7 M-loc slots all the way around the rail over and over, but I only count 5 full slots

Think of it as an octagon or a clock face, Picatinny on top, mlok on the 45's[4] and 3/6/9[3] o'clock.
So 7 rows of m-lok slots, he said it has 7 m-lok slots which confused me as I was always under the impression each slot is considered a slot not a whole row of slots
The handguard thing is not new, Hanael put it on their German submission and later on HK put in on their 416A8.
The suppressor is the interesting part, hence the adjustable gas block. But if I go with this why not HK416A5/A7? Unless it is cheaper than HK for points in the bid. Historically HK doesn't seem to get any favor in that UK community since the MP5 days.
Their main competitor in the UK will be some form of colt canada MRR, the question mark is whether the adjustable gas block is necessary - that is a question associated with the suppressor paired up with the rifle, which we do not know.
But I am not sure this glock thing can be cheaper than MRR. I don't think they will get it.
Not sure SIG MCX is submitted, but I have my doubt MCX can perform as well as MRR and 416 in cold weather.

The AR18 bolt carrier is kinda hanging on and riding on the twin rods. The tabular AR BGC is designed to ride on the receiver. Combining the two, tittle space is left around the recoil spring system within the MCX receiver. There is no where ice and dirt can go inside the recoil spring guide rod channel, and the MCX BGC is also on the light side, it is counting more on the spring than AR o cycling. The cam pin is also close to the guide rod hook, ice and stuff tend to build around corners like that. That's the price paid for AR ergonomics without using AR BGC and recoil system. When it freezes, it will be dealing with two frozen springs crawling on two frozen rods in a channel packed with ice. In an AR, the recoil spring is not crawling on a rod. in Bren M2 and SCAR, the entire receiver is open for ice to fall out off the recoil rod, even in SA80 which is a direct transplant of AR18.
The AR gas system actually blows the snow and ice out of the ejection port - seen it in Ian's video and other videos as well. That actually clears lots of obstructions. The SIG has the same upward ejection port angle as the AR but it doesn't have the exhausting gas to blow out off the ejection port Gravity! Modern extrusion tube guns like Bren M2 and SCAR have ejection ports angled at 90 deg and they don't need to work against gravity.
There are videos of informal people fooling around with unscientific mud and sand tests, MCX doesn't do as well as regular AR in general. Saying that, I think MCX is an excellent choice in 300blk for special purposes and special people who have suppressors, but it is not something I would like to have in very extreme places with lots of ice and snow.
