Can a store keep my fully transferred handgun from me

I've bought online from Tenda, and I'll buy more in the future. They're not the best, and they're not the worst. I can say the same about WalMart.

This was never about the money or even the gun ! This was about the store employees telling me they have powers of a CFO and the ability to revoke ownership if they decide to, I told them they didn't and they said watch us and so I did watch them. They did revoke my ownership using their business portal by lying to the CFO office saying I had cancelled my order and returned the firearm to the store which I 100% never did. So that was where the CFO got involved as the store does not have CFO powers to revoke registrations. They do have some leeway as a business if a buyer cancels they can transfer the gun back to them to resell. However as I have stated multiple time I never cancelled my order I never returned it to the store or asked for a refund so that was where they messed up and why the CFO did call them and smack them about it and left them scrambling to re-register the firearm back to me which they now have. I have also tonight been contacted again by the owner who has agreed to ship me my firearm as soon as they get the the new transfer approval which I just got emailed tonight as well so it should be shipped tomorrow or monday.

So for all the people going on about it being about money or that if only I just paid more I could have had a gun to shoot well again it was never about the money and I have an extensive collection of handguns so I have never been unable to go shooting. I stood up to a store employee who threatened to do things they had no authority to do and I called them on it and when they did do it I let the CFO office know what they did and they called and told them they cannot do that. I did it so that in the future they will know what they can and cannot do to customers and hopefully the attitude of the store employees will have been fixed. I have heard on this thread that many many others have had the same issues with the employees. The owner also assured me tonight he would look into the policies and procedures of his store.

So as of tonight this issue seems to have been resolved and my firearm will be shipped with no further issues

Thanks for all the input from everyone on this

I've got to commend you on taking a stand. Like you said it was never about money but principle. I would have loved to be a fly on the wall at Tenda after the CFO gave them a spanking. I used to shop there but will choose to look elsewhere now that their shenanigans were brought to light. That extra $15 has probably cost them that a thousand times over as I'm sure I'm not the only one. Congrats on your victory over principle!

Good on you OP, and the retailer has hopefully learned their lesson (the rest of us have, ie: beware when dealing with that retailer). I'd have reported the gun stolen and sent the badges to the store.

Congratulations OP! We need our firearm retailers but not so much that they think they are the law themselves. Thank you for the update. To many of us, $15 is nothing but our beliefs and principles are what makes us what we are.

Hopefully the retailer got a nice talking to from the CFO. If breaking firearms laws for us target shooters and collectors means losing our privileges, then I think it's safe to say that retailers can only commit so many shenanigans before being at risk to losing their privileges too.

Good on you !!

Tenda should have their business license revoked for lying to the CFO…….imagine what would happen to any one of us if the roles were reversed.

Tenda sure got a lot publicity with this thread for 9 bucks.
Also shows how passive some members here are. Exemplary of the firearms predicament we’re in.

I don't have a dog in this fight, but if the above is correct and accurate, tenda should be removed from the "approved retailer" list. Now I know how this site operates, and I know that will never happen when money is involved, but damn, that's just effed up. Bad enough that we have a government that is militantly fanatical about treating us like garbage, but now we have retailers that are doing the same. Now I'm sure there will be a flurry of '20 post' members flooding in here to tell me how awesome tenda is, how they never have an issue and I'm a white supremacist misogynist for saying it, but I wouldn't spend a dime at tenda if they were quite literally the last gun store in canada, and I have to mine my own gunpowder out of the ground.

Well done to the OP. I tenda to believe his side of this story.

That's what I hate the most whenever a thread about Tenda's poor customer service comes up. The Tendoids come out in full force, and it's not only that they've never had an issue, it's because they've never had an issue that they can't even comprehend that it's possible for others to have an issue, and if you say otherwise you're entitled and a whiner.

People treat them like they're god's gift to firearms owners in this country, when in reality they're a cancer on the entire industry.

lol it is the same for any complaint the fanboys will always support what they think is the best.

I would say Tenda is more extreme though, more people on each side who love them and hate them (and hate them with a passion because of their practices), probably from the larger customer base that got sucked in by the prices.

I can confirm that they did ask my wife for an extra $32 to cover increased shipping insurance for her purchase of a handgun. My wife really wanted to take a stand as well, but she was torn by the circumstances and wanted the gun, so she did pay the $32. The gun has arrived with no further drama from Tenda, but we will be asking for a refund of the $32 in light of what has transpired in this thread and may have her credit card company dispute the charge. If there had been no upcoming transfer ban and if another retailer had one of her guns in stock, we would have cancelled her order with Tenda. As I stated earlier, we planned on another purchase, a .22 Kadet conversion kit, we could have ordered from Tenda, but we chose a different retailer. They lost a $650 sale over a $32 fee.

Some retailer give you the option to take or decline insurance. Others do not, you must take and pay insurances. So ask before buying, and get an invoice with final amount that include all fees that are outstanding like shipping. Buying is a contract and good paperwork make it easy for all.
You as a buyer, are entitle to a complete, formal invoice with terms and total amount.

The problem is that we both paid for the shipment to be fully insured at the time of purchase, there was a shipping insurance fee added to the purchases. Between the time of purchase and before the actual shipping of the item, the retailer increased his shipping insurance fee and refused to honour the sale contract made at the time of purchase unless there was an extra shipping insurance fee added.
