Prophet River's Handguns and future shipments

Still waiting for mine from the same date.

The last transfer that got approved in BC, just after all this crazy stuff happened, took 6 weeks.

Seems the are now backed up further now then they were then

Since you're in BC call 1-800-731-4000, press 1, press 1, press 9530. This is the BC CFO extension. They will approve up to two transfer per call. Ask for the approval to be sent to you and then you can forward it to PR so they can ship. Otherwise you might be waiting a whole lot longer.

Yikes, just called and they close at 2PM! No wonder there's a backlog.

Got through today approved my last buy but... they cant email the transfer notification as the internet/network/portal is down??? And they would have to mail out the notification to me... so that sorta sucks.

8/21 went for further review to registry...so sat for 2 months with them and just went to cfo here a week or so ago. M&P kit from prophetriver incase anyones waiting.

I called in got ahold of a very nice lady. she put me on hold to check with her supervisor and said they couldn't bump my transfer along...did I just not get lucky ?

Not super unlucky. Its a crapshoot, there's an older lady that just won't do any phone transfers, a few that really resist, and then some that are willing to run through a lot in one go. And one that says "I'm on transfers tomorrow, I'll get you all done up" because doing six or seven barely takes longer than one or two. So maybe a bit unlucky, but odds are that you are going to get a person that resists doing an expedited transfer. One lady i was chatting with said they had a 'special spot at the bottom of the pile' for people that called in and were rude/aggressive. So don't go being too insistent. I'm from BC, when I call in for transfers, ATTs, or other things the phone connection has been a crapshoot, and sometimes I get someone in BC, but most recently have been talking to people out east, even though it was the 9350 extension.

I've heard they stop phone approvals at 2 pm to focus on approving transfer requests in the queue, their office works till 5pm. They open at 830am call in then and you should get through quick.

When I call in its always been after 9am that the message switches from "our offices are closed" to "we can't answer your call".

I’ve had really good luck. I was turned down once, when I had two transfers outstanding. The person I spoke to processed the first one (about 7 weeks old,bc), after confirming the answer to the question that I asked to initiate the call (a possible data discrepancy). Then they looked at the other transfer, (10 days old) and stated that it was too recent for them to bump. I’ve had good luck getting a few others done on the call at 5-6 weeks.
I’ve heard mutterings about people being pushed back to the bottom of the pile, but each cfp person I’ve spoken to has been upbeat, pleasant, and helpful. Maybe the caller got someone on a bad day, or maybe the caller was having a bad day themself.
I’ve also had great luck with other att and similar calls to the bc extension. They’ve always been really helpful.
The only time I didn’t get a straight answer was when I directly asked in late July how many people were actually working on the transfers. I was polite, phrased it as a ‘how buried/hard do you have to work, are there a bunch of you?’, but they politely responded that the office was in the process of bringing in more people without telling me how many to begin with.
I still wish we didn’t have to jump through all these hoops. Lol

My latest that arrived from Prophet River. Thank you Clay for helping me out big time with some highly desirable hand guns after the import ban announcement. So glad I discovered you guys. Looking forward to a few more coming in from you once my approvals come in

LOVE my 320 Legion

I managed to get through today and got two transfers in!! Imagine my disappointment when I open the PDF's and see one transfer is has the wrong ref. number (off by one digit).

Jacob Mahoney of Ontario, if you exist on CGN, your welcome. Send me a 6 pack of Sleeman Honey brown and we'll call it even. :):):)

What is with the perpetual supply of Wranglers? It gets down to 3 or 4, then pops back up to 12 or 13. PR just needs to come clean and admit they own Ruger... Or at least have a few production lines going in the basement. I hope you fired whoever broke the tooling for the G48...

Wait, you called in, gave your name, PAL, and info, and they still churned out a transfer with a completely different name? Really paying attention, aren't they? Especially since it was a transfer to someone in Ontario, and because its not 2027 yet, those shouldn't even be being looked at...

Name and reference number only. They didn't ask for PAL.

I was slightly annoyed because that one transfer had 2 guns on it, but was laughing at the fact that yes, I got someone in Ontario an early xmas present.

I had two restricted purchases awaiting approval (one from Prophet River and one from another retailer), and a restricted sale to an Ontario buyer --- all initiated in the last week of September.

I phoned the BC CFO to request approval of my purchase transfers, and the operator was able to take care of both. Just before she hung up, she wanted to double-check to make sure that she had correctly submitted updates for the purchases and not for the sale. Well, to my surprise, when I checked my email, I had three transfer notification approvals! Needless to say, like the previous person, I was able to deliver a nice early Christmas gift to an Ontario gunnut. I wasn't going to look a gift horse in the mouth!
