This is price gouging. My Local Gun Store just got 50 Cases in last week of Long Range Match and Red Box Match. Selling a Brick of 500 for $130 (Long Range) and $110 (Match)
How to they build long range .22? Is it higher velovity? Bullet Shape?
I'll give them this: they are consistent in pricing things 50% higher than everyone else.
Long Range Match is 40fps faster for me than Rifle Match. SK ammo is all slow for me in factory and aftermarket barrel. There is no difference in accuracy for me.
That is same price per round the same as the last crate of 7.62x39 I picked up.
Ouch indeed.
I'll be plinking with the SKS.
Deletedamong all the SK I have tried, including long range, standard plus, rifle match, biathlon, the long range is the most accurate for all my rimfire including rimx, vudoo and anschutz.
That being said, I wouldn't pay more than $120 for a brick. Higher than that I would go with Lapua Midas $200 or Eley Tenex $250, or lower than that I go with Norma TAC22 $65 for a brick.
