Recently picked a Mossberg 500 12 Ga, 3 Barrel Combo from SFRC. This is my first shotgun so I went with the Mossberg 3 barrel and it comes with a 24-inch rifled slug barrel includes a cantilever mount for scope or optic installation.

What are your recommended scopes for the rifled barrel be? I intend to use it for deer hunting.

Well I run a Simmons 1.5-4.5x40mm on mine. Since it's shotgun, you not going to be doing much shooting out past 150yards. Shot a few at ~150ish, right down to 10 yards. Big thing to remember is pushing bush you need to keep it on your lowest setting or you'll have a hard time finding what to shot in fast close ranges. All you will see is brown.

But make sure you find a shotgun scope, they have the paralax set differently then a regular rifle scope ( 50yds I believe, unless you get an adjustable paralax)

I use a bushnell trophy shotgun scope. It has held up well so far for a lower cost scope. Given the choice I'd go with a nikon slughunter if you can find one(out of production) or a leupold freedom ultimateslam but its more money. Depends on your type of hunting and how much you want to spend. The burris would work as well. My suggestions are more suited to stand hunting and if you trudge around the bush for your deer you likely would want something with less magnification.
