The movie is coming out end of this month and looks pretty good. I saw the TV version in the 70's which was kinda ok,but this one looks interesting. Other then the movie "1917", "Galipolli", "Zeppelin" there seems to be a dearth of WW1 movies

 
What a new production without LGBTQ representation ? seems everything these days has at least one main character that is ###, or whatever.

The red baron movie from 2008 had a reinvented Manfred von Richthofen portraying a crying sad Red Baron who was anti-war.

It looked soo awesome in trailers too, then woke turned it to poop
 
Original movies in black and white, as seen on TCM, are the best.
No cgi BS, just original effects, not fake like every movie today.

Not sure I want to watch a movie that is gonna be totally depressing. The notion of sending good men into a meat grinder for mass slaughter is just so so stupid.

Both the book, and the 1930 movie, cause Hitler and Goering to have fits. When the movie was first screened in Germany, they staged riots at the theatres, and pushed for the film to be banned.

I'm opposed to a cash grab remake. How can you improve on something that fundamentally infuriated Goering and Hitler? Just watch the original. Scr3w the money grubbing pukes at Netflix.
 
Watched it last night, German audio with english subtitles like it should be. Thought it was pretty good. Better then 1917.

Read 'The Thin Red Line'.
Probably have seen the movie... I was surprised that JJ wrote about it considering the times he lived in.
 
Quite well done and the take away is anti war. WWI - the war to end all wars ... but human kind is faked up so so much for that ...
 
They shouldn’t have called it “All Quiet on the Western Front”. Bad narrative, awful to no character development and poor retelling of the source material. The cinematography was good and the props were decent. Feels like a wasted opportunity. Also the flamethrower scene was a joke. 3/10 will never rewatch, 1930 and 1979 did a far better job.
