Anyone thought of trying to get a Writ of Mandamus to
get the Firearms Registry to accept a pistol
transfer??
It worked to get machine guns registered in BC in 1977
After all the new Firearms Act prohibiting pistols
isn't law
It would test the OIC 's that the Liberals are using
to run the Country instead of going to Parliament

Excellent idea!

What will it cost, who will represent the Legal Handgun Owners (and would be handgun owners) and Firearms Businesses of Canada, and how do we start fundraising?

I suspect the biggest job will be to find a judge not appointed by the Liberals. Ideally, one that's retiring.

Such a Writ is to get bureaucrats to perform their duties correctly (basically). The challenge with the freeze is it IS law, via regulation allowed in the firearms act, duly put into force following parliamentary rules. I think you could mandamus the import freeze - that's spurrious interpretation by the responsible Ministers, but the freeze itself is not a matter of incorrect application.

If you want to spend money on something, spend it on the CPC's election fund, and spend time writing to PP about how he better reverse this sh!t if he wants to keep your vote.

In 1977 full autos were legal. I lived in Esquimalt (3PPCLI). When I returned in 1976 (from Edmonton) the Esquimalt Municipal Police Dept. confiscated my

VZ58V (already registered full-auto).

They told me in no uncertain terms I had to send it back to my permanent home address. Why? Because weeuns dant lik tham kind guns here about.

So in 1979 I had it sent to me at CFB Gypsumville. The local RCMP told me the same as the Esquimalt wigglys did. So that rifle sat in my closet in my

permanent address until Decemberof 1980.

A writ may have forced the gendarmes to do their duty then. I strongly doubt it work now as handguns are now under the new OIC.
