Just wanted to share my joy and happiness with all you fellow enthusiasts regarding this fine pistol which is now the flagship of my small collection.

It is chambered in .45 ACP and true to original 1911 specs, it has no series 80 safety mechanism in it, providing for a super sweet trigger pull.

I got everything just the way I wanted it, including the curved mainspring housing and Nowlin trigger. There is a fully adjustable Dlask rear sight which doesn't show up very well in the photos. The Hogue grips feel great too.

The quality, fit and finish and attention to detail is over the top and I feel like a kid at Christmas...sometimes you CAN get what you want!

By the way, I would appreciate any and all comments etc. regarding Dlask pistols from anyone inclined to make them.

Thanks.

Nice looking pistola. Although, personally I don't care for either extended slide stops or thumb safeties on my 1911's....

I never have heard a bad word about Dlask pistols here. Can someone tell me what the front serrations are for? I don't like the look of them and I notice most combat handguns don't have them.

The front serrations are answer to an non existent problem
If you are shooting bullseye I agree. A lot of us IPSC shooters like to use the front serrations.

I emailed Dlask a few weeks ago about a very similar gun, but got no responce so have since bought a Kimber. Oh well, enjoy that gun, looks fantastic.

I also e mailed on another matter and never got a response. Nice guns though, I also dislike extended slide release, but i like the big safeties.

I work 5 minutes from Dlask's shop and drop in there from time to time. It's not hard to understand that your emails got lost in the shuffle. Just phone them; they are good people.

While I understand your frustration, your Kimber is not the equivalent of a Dlask, they are 2 very different guns. The level of precision in the Dlask guns I've handled is noticeably higher than anything off the shelf. So is the accuracy and the finer points of the fit and finish. People really need to handle true 'custom' guns before they say my ###### factory gun is just as good. They aren't. Congratulations to Thor74 for ordering what he wanted, waiting for it to be made to specification, and of course paying the price for it. I'm sure you'll enjoy it, every other Dlask custom owner I've met was very proud of "their" gun. I of course was just envious.

Did I say it was? I was in the market for a 1911 and like the look of a particular Kimber and thought Dlask could make a better one with the same looks, but recieved no responce so went with the Kimber. If Dlask doesn't want to answer emails he shouldn't put an address on his site. They lost my business because of a lack of responce, not that I think Kimber are better. That's all.
