Nicest wood on Zastavas?

ah ah no the problem was hornady brass ...

a lh full stock. we tried with anthony at tradeex to get a not hog stock left hand in 30-06 and 9.3x62 but zastava never replied to it despite having the tools to do it.

no the spare stock is one i purchased from Daniel here in case the full stock broke.

Ah, ok. It's too bad Zastava never mde more FS rifles.

Zastava has used walnut at least on the 4-5 I’ve owned over a span of about of decade

Also I found the quality deteriorated on the stained hogsback stocks over the oil finish Monte Carlo ones. The hogsback imports also came after the MC

The triggers are also easy to adjust so I’m really not sure what bearhunter is on about.

I also had a lemon hogsback model from the last import run, so put a few rounds down range before celebrating with a third thread I’d say

they can do it but the problem is making paper to import one single caliber and configuration plus the will or not of the person handling the export and the one in charge of the build ...

if one importer is willing to do the gamble as we have now an importer for the us market but they did not bother to have full stock or metric calibers and they re zastava usa ... but i imagine they re selling full throttle the semi auto well know 70 one and they re offering walnut stock on ak47 ...

it will not be hard to get one day a m76 here in canada ... lol we can dream ...

Here are a few examples of some that have come and gone. My experience with most of them were pretty good. Some needed a bedding job, and a special touch. Great bush guns IMO.

i got a spare stock just in case for my wife full stock (thank you Daniel).
the original 9.3x62 left handed stock.

the 9.3x62 left hand with now a boyds laminated stock bedded (thank you Ted)
and the 30-06 full stock that my is using for most of her hunt including fly out, river or lake ... she wanted one full stock in 30-06 she knew what she wanted and used it a lot.
Nice!! And I saw Phil’s wife shoot that rifle at the range and she can shoot, the rifle and the wife!! Bothe better than me hahaha!!

3rd from the bottom is gorgeous Dgradinaru. Incredible! What’s it chambered for? I hope you haven’t let it move on down?

Hey I know that gun.

I remember being upset I couldn’t get it to shoot less than 1.5 inches with 200 grain woodleighs, buying hornady factory 180s cutting 2 inch groups and taking it on a (successful) hunt.

These days I would probably have just left well enough alone

they re not only great bush: the blueing is well executed and the wood can be extraordinary and the price they were and open sights... it was a steal but nobody sees and now it is too late ...

I never got around to shooting it, sat in the safe with no use so i sold it. Regret it though.

It was a nice looking Zastava and a bit of stain would have made it look pretty nice. I can’t get over the Monte Carlo full stock combo though, just seems wrong

I am very happy with the wood. Bought this 6.5 x 55 new from Tradex. They posted pictures of the actual rifles; of the two in 6.5 x 55, this one had the nicest wood. After a couple of coats of tung oil rubbed in, it was even prettier.

The wood on some is quite nice, especially if refinished. The recoil pad is poorly fit, and the checkering is brutal. The ones I’ve had anyways.

Lovely wood! Eventually going to restock my other zastava in 6.5x55, wood isn't very pretty :(
Really like the dark stripes that run through the stock, gives it a cool look.

My recoil pad is a perfect fit. While shallow, the checkering is not awful, but could benefit from recutting.
