I grabbed one of these and put all my AR parts on it and it’s a great little shooter. I’ve been telling everyone about them. And local too!,

Happy with mine. Got to use those random parts that were just laying around. Made a straight pull 7.62x39 fun blaster.

Is there any way I can have my Gen 1 MRA Renegade keep the bolt open without a magazine inserted like the Gen2 units? Not a fan of shoot the rifle, last round bolt stays back on the magazine, drop the magazine and have the bolt slam forward.

Also, might just be my gun, but if I use 5-round PMags I have to hold the bolt back, insert the full magazine, then release the bolt to have it chamber a round from the new magazine. If I insert a full magazine on a closed bolt the magazine won't lock in, even if I bang the base of the mag (I only have 1 PMag. Need to try more).

Thanks!

The bolt hold open is only available on the Gen2. We could take your Gen1 in on trade for a Gen2. Shoot us an email to start the conversation and we can give you an appraisal for the trade.

As for the PMAG not seating on a closed bolt, it likely has to do with the placement of the rivet in the PMAG. If the rivet is inserted slightly too high, it makes the 5th round really tight. In this way, the follower cannot depress enough to allow for the mag to seat on a closed bolt. Try another magazine, even another PMAG, and you will likely resolve the issue.

I have found this with the PMAGs as well. With other mags, however, I can seat the mag at its full capacity (e.g., the 5 rounder that came with a Ruger or Smith). It just seems that the PMAGs are riveted a bit too tight.
