Check your provincial hunting regs,
How else are you gonna transport it. Something about not legal in an area that has game (rifle on display), who drives a reg cab truck anymore?

Back of pickup window racks are still legal as long as you are with your vehicle. If you leave your truck unattended you must hide the guns.
If you are in the truck so long as it is unloaded you could have it where ever you like. However there was one person in canada charged with unsafe storage with a non restricted in vehicle. The police respond to domestic disturbance the girlfriend is drunk and verbally abusive. She was charged with unsafe storage as she was impaired and not legally able to drive so the gun was in storage not transport
Totally legal and there’s lots of us that drive reg cab trucks…
Yes, totally legal until you leave it in the window and leave the truck… I use my rack occasionally just because I can. It’s not as efficient for quick access as on the seat beside me and certainly not before legal shooting time in the morning or after legal shooting time in the evening.

“Before hunting, check local sunrise-sunset times. You may only hunt from half an hour before sunrise to half an hour after sunset (exceptions: night raccoon hunting and spring hunting hours for wild turkey). If you are in an area usually inhabited by wildlife during the period from half an hour after sunset to half an hour before sunrise you must unload and encase any firearms in your possession.
To be considered encased, firearms must be enclosed on all six sides.”
Not sure about other provinces or territories.
Depends on your area, here CO’s will charge you for leaning a rifle against a truck or atv
Any RCMP that would like to chime in would be great

Follow safe storage and transport laws, and hunting corridor regulations and you're legally covered. I suppose national park stuff counts too, but whatever, that's stupid anyway.
Worst case after that you get dinged by bylaw or get some scared person calling the police, but neither would result in you losing your guns or getting arrested. The laws are crystal clear on what you need to do to be covered.
Yeah not that crystal clear. I'm thinking window racks are out unless for fishing rods. Not sure if it's legal to have a truck gun year round. Thanks for more input Jon
