Transfer Times

Called QC CFO this morning and spoke to someone on the phone about my RESTRICTED handgun transfer. They are still tending to end of June transfers unfortunately…

Is there a deadline for them to “complete” these RESTRICTED handgun transfers due to the ban? Or once the transfers are in their system, it’s just a matter of time and there is no deadline?

Thank you GunNutz 👍🏽

I believe as long as the transfer was started before the “freeze” you are fine. Just might take 8 months to get it. At least thats how I feel about Ontario and taking there sweet time

Sold a gun Ontario to Quebec. Transfer requested October 3, approved Nov 1 !!!! Holy smokes. Hey...Ontario CFO, you listening?

NO WAY it was approved within 10 days. Literally no chance haha. Mine is a mid august transfer request and it’s gonna be a while it seems.

Quebec and Ontario seem on par with their transfer pace…

Glad to hear that if the transfer is pre-handgun ban then we should be good. Not sure about managing my patience but I’ll deal with it.

First one, Ontario retailer to Qc, i bought on July 1 and the transfer was initiated on July 4, approved on november 2
Second one, Alberta retailer to Qc, i bought on august 17, transfer was initiated on august 19, approved on november 2

It seems as though they don’t necessarily follow the transfer dates in chronological order. Like someone is on vacation and has a STACK of transfers from June meanwhile the person working hard at their desk is already in the August pile. And there’s another person working slow AF and they have July transfers. Probably no proper management whatsoever.

I’ve never seen anything like it tbh…

Always remember that government offices have no accountability, no deadlines, and no motivation for any kind of continuous improvement or streamlining. Show up, stay the necessary hours, go home. What happens in those hours is no ones business and no one cares.

LIES!
As someone who is waiting since mid Aug. (i know not as long as some of you), I refuse to believe this! lol
Hey w01f….as a new guy on here you had fetter learn some manners….FAST!

“I” applied for a transfer on September 30 and received approval notice on November 1, yesterday. Nobody was anymore surprised than me.

So you’ve been waiting since mid August, my oldest outstanding transfer request is from the end of May and I’m still waiting! I received 1 today from Alberta that took 20 weeks to the day.

So before you start calling people “LIARS” get your information straight first! :kickInTheNuts:

Welcome to Marxism .

This may seem like a stupid question but I only got my restricted just in time, should I be looking at Ontario or BC transfer times? I ordered 4 handguns from an Ontario retailer to be shipped to me in BC

He was clearly jokingly calling you a liar which is made obvious by the "lol" at the end. Don't be weird.

Wooooooahh!!
I thought my sarcasm was self evident, i really meant no disrespect and the comment was purely in jest (hence lol towards the end).
But re-reading it now I can fully understand why it might have been taken in wrong context.
Honestly i'm just happy that everyone's transfers appear to be going thru. :)

Fully apologise. I'll be more careful with how things are worded in future.
