Heading to deer camp Saturday. Can't wait! The anticipation is killing me! Good luck to everyone!!!
I'm headed up to my camp north of the French River (42) and it sure looks mild until the end of next week. Not worried about the lake freezing this year! Not thrilled about the 15+ weather next week. Looks like below freezing at night with clear skies so should be some heavy frost.
It’s interesting that by the time we are completely winding down for the year out here, you guys are chomping at the bit..
Moose winds down in a few days, elks closed, white tail and mule deer tags filled earlier in the year, sheep in September..
mind you things get going around august here!
Good luck and get yourself a bruiser, the one thing we don’t have around here are a lot of white tails and the big ones you really really really have to work for them, I’d bet it’s harder to shoot a mature white tail Buck consistently than a 6pt elk here.
Where in the world are you hunting. Deer seasons don't open till November and elk also in most places is a week earlier. We usually don't see the bucks till the end of the month of November and in the 300 WMUs the elk don't show till November or even later. That's why cow tags go to the middle of December.
