MDT recently released their new Timbr Frontier stock:
The MDT Timbr Frontier has been developed to provide the look and feel of a traditional stock while incorporating the precision and repeatability of the modern V-Block bedding from a chassis. The buttstock and forend are made of Birch hardwood laminate giving every stock a unique wood grain and warm feel. They are then finished with a high-quality clearcoat and attached to the aluminum micro chassis and bottom metal.

Interesting concept for sure. Is this just a one-off niche stock? Or could we see other companies incorporating laminates in their chassis designs?

Woox already done it, with nice wood.
GRS has nice laminate stocks along the same lines.
I like MDT stuff, but this one does nothing for me.

I forgot about the Woox stocks.

It's interesting that MDT put in the substantial investment that would have been required to produce this style of stock.

It literally looks like the XRS stock with wood instead of plastic bolted on. I don't think it was much of a stretch for them lol

It looks like they built a new shop specifically for wood products with different set of tooling to dye, glue, form, cut laminate is what I mean. That certainly requires some sort of commitment and investment.

A little heavy reminds of some Boyd’s I have had.
Sticking with XLR MAG. myself ,but would do the MTD lightweight chassis, kelly
