X2, no need to brag you have one in the truck. Next thing some pissed off motorist will claim you pointed it at them and the #### will hit the fan.

Yep. Location means a lot. And I'm in a small town. Just trying to get the legality of keeping a rifle shotgun in the truck 24 hrs. Don't want to answer why don't matter lol. So far I'm starting to think no it's not ok 24 hrs 365 days. Or maybe it is but not really.
I have decided to never use a trigger lock before early morning hunt. It’s impossible to read the numbers on the lock in the early morning. In BC, we can hunt one hour before sunrise.
I just pulled the bolt and put it in my pocket
So even if legal and following rules of transport and storage it seems up to the Leo. And that's fair. So to recap.. can I have a non restricted rifle in the truck 24 hrs. I think the answer is maybe
In BC you don't even need to pull the bolt out of your rifle. Just has to be unloaded while in a vehicle. Sometimes you may leave the vehicle and begin hiking into a spot well before legal hunting hours. It's legal for you to exit your vehicle, load your rifle and start hiking.
The answer is YES. As long as you comply with transport and storage laws.
