Well, I know this is probably a lost cause, but I'm wondering if the A3/4 detachable carry handle is still legal to purchase, and if so, who might have stock?

I guess I want to finish my build even if I only get to look at it before I have to hand it over for destruction. If there is a way to keep and store, I still want one in case of a conservative oic. I'm sure in the short run there is no market for these parts

Yes they're still legal, accessories aren't prohibited (yet).

As far as where, nobody is bringing them in these days so you'll have to hunt one down or just order one from the US.

Order through a proper importer like IRG, A z t e c h Armory, or RDSC, otherwise by the time cbsa determines what to do with your Brownells order, the buy back may have already taken place... and that's the best case scenario. Worst case they just seize it for Destruction because the PSM Bill Blairs mandate letter to the cbsa informing them that "some components" (uppers only) of the AR-15 are now also prohibited in addition to the single previously regulated part (the lower). This letter was made intentionally vague so they could seize anything AR related.

Thanks for the clarification and suggestions. I'll source a known exporter.

I suppose I could always chisel an ar out of wood (non functioning haha) to showcase all my parts on the wall.

Keep fighting the good fight everyone!

It's not known exactly what is going to happen. IF it comes to it , instead of surrendering your property for zero compensation , weld it up and then you have your wallhanger.

I know you’re likely joking about making one out of wood but that could be illegal. Replica firearms are a prohibited device under the CCC.
