You guys can’t read? He said same size projectile but of course different powder charge, so the bullet is not 50% heavier!!

Ahahaha. And here I thought we were talking .303 vs .308
Considering the x39 is close to 30-30 in power, yah almost anything kicks harder
It's a hoot in a pistol.

Yea, me too and a 308 vs 303 comparison would be something worthwhile. 303 vs 762x39 is a pointless comparison. Might as well compare 45-70 vs 223 and be amazed that 45-70 has more recoil.

In other news, we’re almost, kinda, sorta, pretty sure that a 12 gauge will kick more than a 22LR. We will need to do some testing to confirm. Come on WhelanLad, are there really people out there that don’t realize that a bullet that’s basically 50% bigger, with 50% more powder fired out of what is most likely a lighter rifle will kick more?
aint got the 308 but coincidently i shot 7-08 an 303 side by side.... and ironically, they are both loaded with the same Gr of Varget- one is 180gr and one is 140gr projectiles.... fair differene there also
Same bullet driven to different velocities ... leads to different amount of felt recoil. No chit! Especially considering the energy formula squares the velocity.

You must also post the weight of the firearm as that also influences recoil
