Which .22 LR Bolt Action

Once you buy your rifle, you then get to try all sorts of ammo and find out what it likes, not the same as centerfire as you can't reload for your rimfire.

Why not adding a quality match barrel to the 10/22 you have? Bed properly and feed it quality match ammo. Results might exceed what you are looking for.

If you truly want a bolt rifle, the scorpio 332A's, with some TLC, shoot and operate great... for very little money. This is an Annie 54 clone so some very good genetics.

CZs of most any sort work well.

Annies work great... older CIL/Annies can be a bargain

Savage MKii can work great but may also need TLC to keep going.

Marlins, Rugers, Mossbergs all can work quite well.... just depends on what accurate means to you and your final budget... and how much TLC are you willing to do.

Thank You for the suggestion on the 10/22 . I had no idea you could do that .
I might want to do that for the 10/22 and still get a bolt action
Where does one get a match barrel for a 10/22 ?
How long a barrel should one get ?
Does it need to be put on by a gunsmith ?
Does the current wood stock need to altered ? I know lots of questions !

Looks pretty good in that MDT chassis with the big round bolt knob and the fluted barrel.... :)

For the price, it's hard to beat CZ, or Tikka, but regardless of what you choose, you need to find a load that it likes , for the rifle to shoot to potential.
 
You can't go wrong with a Tikka T1x or a CZ 457. Lots of mods you can do down the road but you'll get good performance from the factory.
 
Savage Mk2. I've had a couple, the one I've kept is an amazing rifle. Stainless barreled action in a laminate stock, nothing fancy but she's a shooter. Well below the $500 mark, optic excluded.
 
I have had great luck with savage 22s. Both of mine (A22, Markii FV) have be wonderfully accurate. The A22 has been stone reliable. The mark II needed a new set of extractor/ejector and new spring after about 800 rounds and has been problem free for thousands since.

I also have a CZ 457 Canadian. It’s a great quality feeling rifle, super smooth bolt and a joy to shoot. Off hand it’s one of if not these most balanced rifle I own. But at the end of the day at the 100yard range I get a good half inch tighter group with savage on average than with the CZ no matter what ammo I have tried (Eley, SK, CCI, Winchester).

So my vote would be a Savage mark II for targets and a CZ for hunting. My optic and rifle on the savage cost less than the cz

I can supply match 10/22 barrel is a wide range of specs including contours and lengths... pm or email to discuss

Length and other specs feedback to your application and desired set up. no one answer

Installation of most 10/22 parts are DIY if you have basic mechanical skills and tools. This is the lego of firearms

Depends on which stock... best to just pm or email and let me know what you have and what you want to do with it.

The application range spans the entire rimfire world... outside of the olympics of course.

Have you thought about a Walther KKJ-T ? Very good old school quality firearm. The 'KK' stands for Kleinkaliber (basically .22), the 'J' for Jagd (Hunt) and the 'T' for target afaik. I had one a long time ago and it was a) very precise and b) great for small game hunting. Only thing is that it was almost too nice to take hunting. I was a little bit more careful not to ding it up when hunting and really enjoyed the experience carrying it in the woods. I hardly ever missed a shot with it. Mine was the single-shot version. AFAIK some have mags. Only downside in my opinion is the plastic trigger guard, the rest is solid. The trigger was outstanding. The safety can be hard to engage on some i was told. It handled a wide variety of ammo without any problems. In hindsight i wish i would have never sold it. A CIL 180 or 190 might be worth checking out also.
