If you look atanuals for both types of projectile, like the Hogdon or lee manuals, you would see the data is very different.
 
That frame is done... you can salvage the rest of the parts and sell them, turn the frame in to get it off your registration...

A jacketed 250gr bullet, 6.8gr of TiteGroup. Double charge is possible I'll never know for sure. Yes Gunco will give me the news. Primer is large pistol from Ginex

By "accurate and going good" I take it you fired several of the same load before getting to the boomer?

If so, this is almost certainly a double charge.

Hodgdon 2019 and Lyman 50 both say 6.8 Titegroup is over max load by about .5 gn...

Where did you find listed load as max 7.3?
 
Possibly a double charge. Is it possible that another type of powder was used by accident ? I have two SAA Pietta’s I enjoy very much. I use to have some hot loaded 45 Colt that I used in my contender and Super Redhawk but once I picked up the Pietta’s I knew If a round accidentally got into one them it wouldn’t be good.
Have you taken the other rounds apart to see if something is possibly wrong with them ? You may never for sure what the cause is.

Only had the one powder TiteGroup. More I think about it, it becoming clear I screwed up. My fault.
 
Just looked at the Hodgdon website. Hornady 250gr XTP bullet, 5.5gr Titegroup gives 9700CUP, 6.3gr gives 12,700CUP. Based on this information, your load of 6.8gr was .5gr, about 8%, over maximum. Hardly a double charge, but still a stiff load. Pressure would have been right up there. .45Colt has a lot of volume, shouldn't be any problem getting a double charge in the case. Looking at the remains of the cylinder, the chamber walls are remarkably thin.

I wouldn't break it for parts just yet. Justin isn't going to be in power forever.
