Making lemonade out of a Lemon!

Not only this, they refuse to take anything back from my experience.

I ordered 5 Chinese SKS from them last year, 2 were total garbage, not firing with rust and pitting on the receiver and rusted gas tube. 2 were okay but still needed my belt sander treatment ,and reblu only one was fine.Took me many hours to get them working, Tenda does not care even if is not an insurance claim. They just won't.

Pretty sure yours was already damaged before UPS even got it.

They even have the arrogance to sell them as mint now. I don't believe anything.

I ordered one over a week ago bought and paid for, with the "free shipping" waited 5 business days with no updates so I called to see what's up only to get the BS UPS doesn't ship to your area and it will cost $26 to go with canadapost. I said cancel it and I hope the $26 was worth losing a customer by not honoring the free shipping you offered lol..

And yes UPS services my area as well as fedex DHL canpar and the rest of them.

i was lucky, no issue from a couple of my orders but now, i must rethink ordering from them. thanks for letting me know.

I have never had an issue with Tenda with dozens of orders.

That said, I have never bought a wood stocked surplus rifle that is decades old that I did not handle.

I had a couple of issues with them over that past few years and they weren't willing to back up their satisfaction guarantee.

That was several years ago and left a bad impression on me.

Several other folks I know have been very pleased with their dealings with Tenda and haven't had any issue when returning articles with obvious use or defects, that weren't advertised as used.

That such issues seem to crop up ?????????????????

Retailers need to take some responsibility for shipping damage.
Retailers are the worst packers ever.
Rifles I've bought on EE have all been packaged superior to any retailer.
UPS even has a page on their site explaining how to pack
They won't honour insurance claims if it was packed properly

Great job. Good learning lesson for the rest of us. Happy that you sorted this out.

Like I’ve reinforced at my M14 clinics: It’s a Norinco, you can only make them better!!

All the Best!!

Long time my friend. I enjoyed my time at your clinic. Master class!! Still have a few shims in my toolbox :)

You better be sure you have the wood properly lined up before using Elmer's wood glue max or Titegroup III. Those tear the wood apart before separating, lol.

I only have Tite group III which I bought after some research. Bought it locally which is of course usually the best in Canada considering shipping cost.

Hard to know. Box didn't look to bad but had zero support or packing material in middle where it snapped. That being said they couldn't prove it was 100% when it was packed. I asked!

Judging by the condition of the stock, the box would have to have some pretty severe damage. Tenda as a supplier has the responsibility to ensure the conditions of the products they send out. But I heard from other buyers that they basically just throw the rifle into a cardboard box and nothing else. They do it with all surplus rifles, even with the K98 they sold last year, worth $1,600, pretty sad. You would think that surplus firearms would justify a more careful handling.

One of the reasons I never buy surplus firearms unseen.

It was around 2008 I bought an SKS online. I had to go to the post office to pick it up and they gave me a weird look when I slipped them the parcel card. They brought back a box with the barrel sticking out the end, the bolt knob had broken through the box and the thing had rust all over it. I was really disappointed. The best SKS I ever bought was actually from marstar for 75 with some ammo. I figured it would be a POS but hey it was only $75. I loved that thing.

You can say that again.. It took me 1/2 hour and a glass of wine to figure how to assemble the side back together dry. 3 fragments including one big chunk that slide up to the crossbolt. As soon as I got it I went for it. Knew I only had one shot as the glue sets pretty quick. Pulled it off!!
