Mossberg 940 pro Tactical

yes i will get one also if they ever come to canada,i almost gor the turkey model but stop myself since i have a few turkey guns already, bullseye north has the turkey model in stock

Hi fellows,

How would you compare the Mossberg 940 Tactical to the Benelli M4 Tactical?

Thanks,

TDM

I'm not sure I would. 940 uses a newer (to Mossberg) gas system, while the M4's has a serious track record. You'd be looking at 2 different tiers of product overall. One best suited to the range, and the other, hard work.

Don't get me wrong, I'm looking to get a 940, but it will be primarily as a mid-priced toy that I'll likely rattle can. Haha. I'd also say that the 940 would be best suited to a sporter stock, and less so for a pistol grip.

At the end of day, this would be competing with the Beretta 1301, and I'm not sure that's much of a competition. 1301 is really the bee's knees.

They were proto 940s for their early release events. Had one with SPX style sights and a heatshield, a bead, and one cut for a Jpoint.

Check out around 3:10 in the first vid.

Got it ty, I still have not seen a 940 A1 on the Mossberg website. Although maybe the heat shield could be ordered separately then mounted on the 940 in which I will have to look into.

Don't think they've decided to pull the trigger on other models as of yet. Probably waiting to see how it's received. If we know anything about business, it's that they'll trickle them out in hopes of repeat business.

Hi fellows,

What models are considered high-end shotguns for shooting competitions? The type professionals would use themselves?

Thanks,

TDM

The 940JM Pro is the one Jerry designed for competition shooting. I bought one earlier this year. I absolutely love it. Its is the smoothest semiauto 12ga I have. Well balanced, easy loading, cycles very fast....faster than i can shoot....for now...
I bought a m4 turk-clone as well. Dont care for it much. But the price difference is around $1k....sooo yeah. Not surprised. Havent been able to compare to an actual M4. But my friend who has an M4 tried my 940 and was surprised....we have yet to shoot them side by side to really compare. But we will.
