Moss 590 Help

So I took apart my Moss 590 and out fell out a V shaped metal flat spring, now I have no idea whats it called or where it goes...

Any help?

You could try these sites http://stevespages.com/ipb-mossberg-500.html and www.youtube.com/watch?v=oKbWcPdTRBI It seems the 500 and the 590 are basically the same except for metal trigger guard , longer mag and a few other minor differences. The only thing that vaguely looks like a v is a piece of the safety mechanism

There should be an exploded diagram with the owner's manual, if you don't have one you can look it up on line. I agree it sounds like the safety detente plate.

i'll bet that the V spring is the trigger mechanism retaining pin spring. It fits into a slot that is aligned with the retaining pin hole on the trigger mech. Dont lose it, this keeps pressure on the retaining pin thereby preventing the pin from falling out when you fire. Ask me how I know
