My friends came back nov.6 after a 5 day hunt [rivier chaloupe] with SEPAC . SAFARI ANTICOSTI sold out to SEPAC big mistake and bad news for us who hunt in Anticosti ..our groupe did not tag out 100% ..when u spend 4'500.00 you expect a quality hunt .deer count was very low the worst that i have seen in 13 years of hunting on the island ..more bad news next year SEPAC 2023 they will reduce the hunt to 4 days and a 30% increase $$$$ hunting package ..a bad situation for us hunters .but more profit for them ....ps we realy miss SAFARI ANTICOSTI with their quality deer hunts.

what else can happen when you use a state owned outffiter ...

I dunno...in my mind, the definition of "quality hunt" does not include any guarantees that everyone will tag out 100%, especially with two tags.

I've seen lots of Anticosti videos, and they always seemed to present a hunt on the island as being more or less grocery shopping with rifles. I'm not saying that every deer hunt must be or even hope to be a hunt for mega-trophies; I enjoy "meat hunts" but they are available in many, many places for much less money than Anticosti costs...and "trophy hunts", in order to justify the cost, really need to be done in places where there actually are trophies...

Come back anytime to the land of signs that say "Marc something hunts here from 1945-2099 so I practically own crown land and you should leave"

Indeed, a friend of mine bought a field around Acton Valle. When he showed up - on his land! - some locals pushed him out at gun point saying they hunt there. They even shot his pickup.
He went to the police, SQ (ya!), and they told him "better sell, they will not leave you alone".
Guess what, the SQ guy is a local as well, so good luck with that! He sold.

Hunting is tough around here, finding a spot is nearly impossible (unless you are willing to pay to "rent").
They figure we live in Montreal, we are rich and must be f*** over...

Only in QC do you find this kinda systematic public land robbery bull crap. I've hunted many states and provinces and never thought I'd find this kind of behavior and its popularity in North America.

Public land in Wyoming and Montana can get pretty dicey too depending on local idiots. But yeah, Quebec sucks big time.
