9.3 x 62 Mauser which powder?

Although I have yet to try them, Alliant 2000-MR and CFE223 would also be in the right Burn Rate range as is LEVERevolution. I will give them a try in the Spring.

CFE223 has been money in the bank for me with 9.3 so far, but I will admit I am still a bit of a rookie with this caliber. I have tried 250 grain Accubonds that seem to be more accurate than I am as well as 285 grain Norma's which shoot just about as well with this powder combination. I just need to find more of those Norma Oryx bullets.

John Barsness has published loads in magazines and on 24hourcampfire - Big Game powder with 286 grain (2,475 fps with Nosler Partition) 2,647 fps with RL-15 and 2,651 fps with Varget for 250 grain Accubond - also, they are in his book "The Big Book of Gun Gack: The Hunter's Guide to Handloading Smokeless Rifle Cartridges" - page 391. His rifle was a CZ 550 with 23.6" barrel 1-14" twist. Norma cases. CCI 200 primers. I am sure those are the series that he had pressure tested at the Ramshot powder lab in Montana, to ensure they did not exceed 30-06 pressures, but as he reports - they do exceed most published 9.3x62 pressure levels. I have worked up to two of those loads in my rifle with Fed 210 primers and PPU brass - 285 grain sort of Round Nose PPU bullets and Nosler Partition Spitzer bullets with Big Game powder; the 250 grain were Nosler Accubonds with Varget powder. 9.3x62. My rifle is an older Husqvarna - probably a Model 649 - built on what I believe is an FN commercial 98 action. I have no access to load testing facilities.

I've been using CFE-223 with 286 gr bullets.

So far so good but seems to pressure spike if pushed to the extreme upper limits.

Would love to hear more details on your experience and experimentation with this. I have a CFE223 load nailed down for 250 grain Accubonds, but I need to work out a load for 285 grain Norma Oryx, etc.

I didnt see it mention yet, but BC-2 is also a good powder,
I have BC-2 with a 270 gr speer and R17 with a 250 AB, giving same point of impact at 200m, 2630 for the AB, touch over 2500 with the 270 gr. In my 20”Sako.
Varget and CFE.223 have given me good results in the past with different 9.3x62 rifles.
