Marlin model 1895 sbl

They are here, and coming in.. I have not been on any waiting list and I bought one two weeks ago for myself, and another this week for my hunting partner.
Once he had his hands on my rifle he had to have one, the fit and finish is superb, the balance is perfect.. one of the nicest levers I’ve seen.
I was super lucky one Wednesday night in early October when Cabelas online inventory surprisingly had one in stock. It came from Cabelas in Calgary and they shipped it for free to Barrie store for me to pick up. I really wanted a Trapper version though. It’s a long story.

Yes,I hardly gave away a remington made Sbl last week for $3 grand lmao,don't fool yourself plenty of the remlins are sweet rifles,skine are not,just like anything made.Do you really think Ruger has never made a #### ass gun?

Both my remlins (a 336 stainless and a stainless pepper laminate 1895 straight-gripped guide gun) are impeccably made and reliable "forever guns". If you see any people are giving away - send them my way for sure.
The very vast majority of the Remlin guns were just fine after initial teething problems, I have no issues recommending them after minimal inspection for obvious issues having worked on a great many of them now.

Fair enough, the one I owned was from their earlier days in control of Marlin, and it left a bad taste in my mouth. This ruger made vs THAT remlin was a lights out no comparison.
Both of my rem made 45-70s are much better built than my jm stamped 336w. My jm had a crooked front sight, a bore that looks like it was made with a cheese grater, and poorly fitted wood. There is no real difference in accuracy potential between them though..even that 336 will but 3 bullets on top of each other at 50 yds using open sights..all things considered each company made great guns and marlin probably had just as bad QC as rem did in some ways.. I definitely would not over look a rem made marlin.
Eagle Firearms seems to have it instock but I have never done business with them and their listing seems a little off. Most likely a presale but it is not indicated in the ad.

After owning many venerable JM marked levers over the years and (1)1958 30-30 which is probably the finest and most accurate rifle I have ever owned, I would say the new Ruger-Marlin SBL I now own is right up there with the best.Ahhh remlins? $3 maybe but $3 grand

Intersteinterested to read the positive comments of the Ruger made sbl,there was a ruger Sbl at the range the other day and I certainly wasn't impressed with its accuracy ,I wouldn't be happy with it if it were mine .
