Well it became the most popular magnum caliber fairly soon after it's debut ... there are a lot of them out there and a lot of competition for ammo. I know one fellow who had over 20 of them...
You are really late to the party, there have been shortages for over a year now, and selection virtually dried up last spring/summer. That is why you don't let your stock run low, and go shopping in the fall, when you need ammunition to hunt.
I might be late to the party here. But, where the hell is all the 7mm rem mag?! Its not like this is an obscure wildcat cartridge, but its been months with extremely limited stock.
Way it looks will die before I get a 7mm mag. Was just last year finally got a 270 now have to wait and see if a 7mm ever shows up.
There was a bunch of selection at Cabela's this weekend, looks like it just arrived midway through deer season. It wasn't there last week! Mostly 140 and 150 gr stuff.
I always hang on to my 7-mag stuff (ammo and dies) since I never seem to go too long without one. Over the summer I snagged a few boxes of 150gr core lokt factory ammo to add to my stash and sure enough, I ended up buying a T3X laminate in 7-mag this fall.
I bought a Remington Custom Shop KS in 7mag a while back. I'm not kitted up with brass and bullets which is problematic.
I might have it re-barreled or just sell it. It's kind of a nice rifle to tear down.
