I bought a Win SXP Defender with an extra 28" barrel years ago. Light and reliable and decently priced. Downside: Lack of aftermarket parts. Browning BPS is also very good. Smooth action and ambidextrous. Priced on the mid to higher end of the pumps. Downside: Lack of aftermarket parts and heavy. Ithaca 37 is a BPS/Rem 17 clone, also good. Again, Lack of aftermarket parts is a downside. Not sure of the current pricing. Benelli Nova - decent weight and available aftermarket barrel length and some accessories. Priced cheaper or at par with BPS depending on the model. Mossberg 500 series - tons of parts, decently priced. Remington 870 - decently priced, as heavy as a BPS, reliable with tons of aftermarket parts. This is the Honda Civic of Shotguns. The older models were known for reliability specially the Wingmaster. Still, one of the best bang for the buck with multiple barrel length options including aftermarket. Semis? Benellis, Berettas are good choices. But they are more expensive. I heard Girsan 312 are also good. Just not sure of the warranty in Canada as they are warranted for LIFE in US, the last time I saw some ad. Turknellis are also getting some attention for a while. These are Turkish clones of Benelli.
Good luck...
