Buckmastr-

40XB Repeater?
Sporter Weight Bbl is not original
40XB Stock's fore end has been modified

Ken that is a nice rifle
my favourite design in the remington
what are they worth now

I would pay 100 bucks and bring the ammo for a 4 hour shooting session
maybe that would be all I need to complete that portion of my bucket list

owned one that shot really good and sold it for 100 bucks more than I paid to a jerk
regretted it for 10 years or more

sigh

Ken’s or the Robertson stock for a 40x
mmmmmmmmmm
my daily limit for emt is 2 grand thank god,
problem is most might be a little used that are for sale
always paid more for minty, even reblued if done right
nice things are hard to come by, keep them and use them while you can

must go away or I will cry with sadness
will sell a factory type silhouette rifle this spring to find and fund a 40x
probably won’t work but if it was not for dreams, hopes and tommorow’ s we would have nothing

one could put a wanted to buy post but I don’t want to waste other guys time and effort to buy a somewhat beat up , well used semi-rusty rifle just to have one
thus rental but would prefer to buy or rent for 3 months
just kidding

Polished Blued Sporter weight Bbl w/ 700 sights.
BDL configured walnut stock w/ black fore end tip.
manufactured mid-late 70's
700 manufactured

I HAD one in hand, once, couldn't afford it, so I handed it back across the counter.

One of those 40x rimfire repeater sporters went through Accuracy plus a couple years back at $3500 iirc. It looked amazing.

I recently got this one from an estate I am helping with. In 6x47. Bore appears mint. Kinda crappy pic, but was wearing a Lyman 20X scope. Have a NF NXS on it now.

My 40X has the serial number 056646R. I am assuming this is a custom shop model, am I correct?

I have that same model, shoots very, very well. Also managed to luck into a couple hundred Federal 6x47 Rem brass. I love shooting this gun, if the groups open up, i know it's me. - dan

Rare VLS chamberings there Dan. Beautiful guns. Very accurate too.
The VLS came in three stock types from what I can tell. The earliest was checkered front and back with a rosewood tip. The middle ones checkered on the grip only. The last ones had no checkering at all.
Thanks for the pics.

Beautiful rifles!

As a teenager-target-shooter... I've often lust for a these

A 40XR rimfire.
Another option was the 540X rimfire.

The 40XC's were available in 223 & 7.62x51 w/ Gray Syn McMillan Repeater configuration & the 40XR/XC w/ Gray McMillan stock in 22LR single shot.
(complete set of above that are NIB)
The 40XC stocks were proprietary to Rem Custom shop ONLY.

A Modified 40XC stock was available to purchase from McMillan that had a drop belly(repeater) per se w/ thinner fore end.
