Playing with the idea of moving to Saskatchewan from BC. The Nipawin area has an interesting property. Here in BC I sit in trees with a xbow. Thinking that might not work in Nipawin area. Do hunters use xbows there? Ground blinds. And hay got any? Got 2 horses that like hay

Plenty of places to hunt and fish

Hope you like cold weather and loads of snow.
Plenty of people selling bales of hay around.

Crime is the usual culprits in Nipawin

Property is over priced at the moment

Nipawin area would be great for a hunter / fisherman / outdoorsperson.
Probably the best walleye / pike fishery in Canada at Tobin
Moose / elk / whitetail / mule deer all within a stones throw.
Lots of space - no big city nearby.
Lots of crown land nearby
I would move in a heartbeat

Nipawin is really similar to the peace region of bc, only flatter and better fishing. Big enough to have all the services you need. $40/year for a 500 yard gun range membership. I’m a bit biased.

That's good to know. And I'm liking the area. Some nice acreages for sale. Noticed that a few use a lagoon instead of septic fields. That's new to me. And a lot of bottle water dispensers in the listing pics. Guess the well water isn't that great in some areas. Thanks dtkb for the info. Hunting and regs sounds good in the area.

X-bows can be used in Saskatchewan in ML and Rifle season, but not in Archery season.

i just finished looking it up so I could verify my post. Lol
Yes and they must be 150lb minimum draw weight.
Good to know! Alberta allows them too but I can honestly say I've never met anyone in either province that hunts with them for whatever reason?

My daughter worked in Zenon Park for a few years(near enough to Nipawin) and loved it. I hunted aronnd there a few times and its lovely country.

I grew up in Nipawin, my family is still there. I do almost all of my hunting in that area. Lots of hunting and fishing opportunities. Lots of snow and snowmobile trails. Unfortunately there has been a spree of crime in the area. Had been an uptick in vandalism, B&Es, and general petty crime in the past few years. Feel free to PM me if you'd like. I think about moving my family back there as well.
