French model 1892 8mm revolver all you need to know

Got my hands on a customized collet type crimp die for 8mm Lebel revolver.

Available from Old West Bullet.

Was able to adjust collet crimp height a little bit.

I tried the HKS 32-K (.32 H&R mag) and it was too tight. Thinking of trying one of their .38/.357 speedloaders.

Good to know. I can save my money there now. I haven't had 8mm ammo yet to try but I know 32 S&W will not work in the 38/357 speed loaders. Unless the 8mm has a rim of similar size to 38/357 I doubt they will work.

Sorry

Has anyone found a speedloader that works with these?

So with a little tinkering I got something to work. By using the outer section (body) of the K frame HKS speed loader and the inboard section (spindle) of the L frame HKS speed loader. It works perfectly but is a time consuming 1 to 2 hour job to make work. If there is interest I will make a tutorial with pics on how to do this.

It's interesting to know there's the option but I don't imagine that very many people are looking for the "go faster" tricks when getting into antiques.

I've been wrong plenty of times too!

LOL yea wasn't looking to enter the next IPSC match or use this old girl for home defence. Just that someone asked and I thought I would make one just to see if I can.

Hello guys
As Terry stopped his Jet Bullets business, do you have another source for lead cast bullets ?
I just bought some 100gr fmj at Henry's Budget shooter supply,
Any help to find out the correct powder load ?
For my 110gr lead bullets I used 3,3gr of Unique.
Cheers

I can make 8mm lebel revolver RNFN 110 Gr bullets, made from wheel weights or soft lead. been a while since i made some but i think they drop a .331 using wheel weights and i have a sizer for .329 I can put alox on them for lube or you can put your own on. drop me a pm if you want some and I can figure how much. Not a business for me so maybe a while before I can make some...

I just loaded some of Budget's (Berry's) 100gr plated with the same 3.5gr Unique load I use for the cast 106gr I have. I will be testing them with a chronograph this weekend and get back to you. Provided of course I have fingers to type.

Thank you Moe, I'll be waiting for your test !
Stay safe and fully fingered !!

Bad weather coming in this weekend so I booked it to the range today after work.

I loaded 3.5gr of Unique for both my Lead Round Nose 106gr powder coated (been doing this load for the last year) and the newly acquired Plated Berry's Round Nose 100gr.

The LRN averaged 825 FPS and the Berry's were only 635 FPS.

I think I will bump the LRN load up to 3.6gr and the Berry's up to 3.7 and see how that goes. Was really fearing a squib with those Berry's. They were really accurate though.

Thank you very much Dakotamar for your proposal, I'll get back to you as soon I've solved my current quest.
