Took the Glock plunge...

I gotta ask, haven't fired anything above a tenner; does ammo capacity really have an impact on target shooting? Does it make it more enjoyable to have a full capacity magazine? It's about the only thing stopping me from buying a Glock is that its been restricted down to 10.

Am I the only one wondering why, in a thread about Glock, there are more pictures of Smith & Wesson M&P?

What is it about these M&P guys, always wanting to whip it out in public, and measure it (or whatever)?

The M&P is a cute looking gun, and it does ok in many aspects, but in the end it is a Smith and Wesson dressed to look like a Glock.

I watched a program last week where these two guys put the M&P through a dust test. It did alright. Not great; just alright.

After every round fired from a gun vice, they would dump a cup of talcum powder on top of the slide and try firing it again.

After the third or fourth shot, it failed to go into battery so they helped it along...fired two more shots then failed again. They helped it again and it fired one more time before failing again.

Now, read or watch Glocks being tested. They get dropped from helicopter with a round chambered, dragged through muddy waters...you name it...They still fire after all that.

Like I said, anyone serious about self defense carries a Glock; there is a reason for that.

One day hopefully we will legally be allowed to own and shoot with standard capacity mags again.

With that said there are many Glocks were the standard capacity is only 10 my G29 10mm is one but if I was ever legal to have the 15 round mags again I would get myself a 15 round G20 mag and pop that baby into my G29 and with a Pierce spacer installed I would have the time of my life.

It isn't just mag capacity that you should be looking at it is reliablity that has made the Glock reputation more than anything else.

Got my G17 last year, first Glock. Out of my half dozen or so 'plastic autos', there is no comparison. Not even close, not in any catagory - it's a ten and they're a 5.

Glocks are comfortable, brilliantly simple, and more importantly they give you 100% confidence that your weapon will fire when you ask it to. Simple as that

Which other tupperware do you own?

My first gun was a M&P 9mm. I still like that gun but I love my Glocks. I have a G22 and a G21. Looking for a 17C for some rapid fire action next!

M&P .40
P99 .40
P22
USP 9mm
24/7 9mm

All of which exist ONLY because of the Glock, yet none come close to it

IMHO of course

and the Glock exists ONLY because of the H&K VP70 - keep the Koolaid cold, and don't let reality get in the way.

:evil:Just thought I'd throw a Glock pic in just to remind everone it's Glock were paying homage to in this thread. LOL (but seriously...all others suck)

Did I, uh....say VP70? lol Pretty sure it was my USP I'm comparing it to. It is after all; a glock wannabe

The VP70 may be polymer, but I don't see it out there in it's 3rd gen form, unstoppable and available in over 20 configurations.

Plus it looks worse than shat!

My Glock has the standrad 17 round mags, but the salesman was trying to talk me into buying some of the 33 round mags (about $30). Guess they would be interesting but I figured the 17 rounders would do just fine.
