There’s probably a hundred different ways and products to clean your guns. But I think this one is by far the best.

Mind you, this is just from my personal experience. Your mileage may vary.

This is the Otis Patriot Series cleaning kit. It comes in a variety of different calibers and a bunch of tools to clean your gun from the breach to the muzzle.

You can use the tools here to clean other parts of your gun too, but it makes bore cleaning a breeze and is much better than a bore snake alone.

Are you being paid to promote these? Sure seems like an advertisement. I am skeptical that this is superior to carbon tipton one-piece rods.

Not at all. This is literally all I use and it's super easy. I WISH I was big enough to get a sponsorship. I never promote anything I don't use daily and actually think is good.

lol I do sound a little like Billy Mays here. Rofl :p But seriously this is all 100% my own experience. My channel is incredibly small. If in the future I am offered sponsorships, I would definitely consider them as this is the only way I am paying my bills right now (I am disabled and unable to work, and try to make educational videos to help keep me busy and make a few $). I have a pretty high moral compass though and have turned down paid promotions on my other channel (SSP Gaming, about 10k subs) for paid promotions because it's stuff I knew my audience wouldn't like, stuff I didn't like, or stuff I didn't think was worth it. So yeah, I know it looks like an infomercial. But this is legitimately stuff I love using.

Otis products are great, this is typically all i use as well. I have rods too, but they're not needed very often. I bought the Otis Elite kit years ago and never looked back.

So I'm glad you mentioned rods. Because with my IWI Tavor X95 I did get a REALLY nice kit with it. And it did include steel rods. While they were ultra sturdy and very useful, especially when using the chamber cleaning brush and the bigger brush for the inside of the receiver, I was REALLY apprehensive about taking that through my barrel.

I don't know man, steel on steel doesn't sound particularly good. I know it's a low risk, but that's a $2,600 gun, and I really didn't wanna take chances. That was the first time I got one of these kits. And they are SUPER easy to use. Not just for bores either, which is great. Can use the little brush to get into the chamber on most guns, clean out the crud I don't wanna stick my fingers into :p

I honestly think they have a really solid patent here with this thing, and they are fairly affordable. Just wish the patches were a little more accessible, but my local range sells them at a good price, and I like supporting local business.

Steel rods are a no-no.. But carbon fibre rods are a different story. Where I would advocate for pull-through solutions like this is rifles where you don't have on-axis access to the breech end of the barrel. In that case you'd have to push a rod down the barrel from the muzzle, which is a bad idea if you don't have a bore guide.

That's according to YOUR experience. Not mine. This video is about my experience. As the description, which you probably didn't read, says: your mileage may vary. This works great for me. It doesn't have to for you, especially if you already ave something else that does.

(Replying to: If it doesn't involve a quality one piece rod and a bore guide it is not one of the best let alone by far the best... )

This is a lot more helpful than the other guy who just put on a pouty face and told me how not "the best" this is :p Thanks brother.

Well to be fair, you titled it the best way to clean "your" gun :p

Ok you got me on a technicality lol. But it was meant in a way that you'd say it to your friend: Hey man here's the best way to clean your gun. Just sharing my experience :) But good catch :p

Steel rods are not a nono but the right tool for the job. They don’t flex. Used with a proper bore guide, they don’t touch the bore at all. Mind that all those nice military surplus and antique were cleaned with steel rods not carbon fiber and this for 100 years +. Cleaning from the muzzle with a guide is also the way with guns such as lever. The best rods are the steel coated rods..bar none.

I use steel rods - on all my competition guns and this for close to 50 years. I have yet to have to replace a barrel because of cleaning.

Bore snake and the like are made for occasional field cleaning. Not for the shooter that really shoot his guns a lot. Only real cleaning with a rod will clean through crud, carbon, lead.
