Browning Auto 5 dating

I just scored a nice Browning Auto 5 Magnum 3" 12ga. Can't seem to pin down the manufacture date. Serial number reads: 6V and just below that: 81066. The Browning site is rather vague.

Can anyone help me on this one?

My Auto 5 has a strange number 457*** I cannot figure out if it was manufactured in 1953 or 1954. Anyone know?

457100 was received in the FN warehouse 6/30/56.
459900 received 12/31/56

Wow that was a quick dating. Thank you saskbooknut. I am amazed that you can be so precise on the dates. Mine is right around the middle of those quoted numbers so I figure September of 1956. It however has no letter prefix before the numbers.
