Rail fit

Hi All

I just purchased an EGW rail for my Smith revolver.

Well upon inspection it is plain to see the holes relative to the recoil lug are not in the right locations. The recoil lug should be flush to the frame.

My question is has anyone else run into this issue? IS the hole position tolerance that loose from smith or is the EGW design idiot proofed and the lug is just for looks or did someone not do their QC when they were making them?

I have one , , But it is a Weigand, had it for years, haven't used it for yrs.
It seemed good, I used it with a scope, but was thinking about getting the RMR plate for my smith.
I have a new EGW plate , Its hi grade stuff, but for a Sig, and no sigs anymore.
You could make a shim and a small spot of epoxy or even a touch of silicone , Black.

I was wondering about just a quick weld bead and machine it to size but I think it will distort with the heat.

I spoke to EGW and they sent me a couple of dimensions and it appears to be with in tolerance so it is a design issue. Looks like it is time for some fitting ��
