Will Numrich Gun Parts ship to Canada?...I am not too sure about this, has anyone dealt with them recently and had their order shipped promptly?...
Thanks.
You'll need an import certificate for any M14 parts.
It takes 4-6 weeks to get an import certificate and about 2 months
to get a US export certificate.
I am somewhat confused, I ordered a Op Rod Spring Guide from Brownells in December and it was delivered no problem. The invoide states it's a "State Dept. Regulated Part" with a comment printed at the bottom that states "These commodities are authorized by the US Gov't for export only to Canada, for use by Busta Capp. They may not be transferred, transshipped on a non-contiguous voyage, or otherwise be disposed of in any other country, either in their original form or after being incorporated into other end-items, without the prior written approval of the US State Dept."
The shipment went through, no problems, and the invoice clearly states "M14/M1A Op Rod Spring Guide". So, some parts are deemed ok by the State Dept. I guess. There must be a list of restricted parts, rather than a blanket restriction.
Yes, you are correct in stating the obvious...on Numrich's E-Gun Parts website, most if not all parts we want for our Norinco M14s' are labelled as "M14" parts, subject to the restricted export list and requiring export/import certificates...what I wanted to know is if they will label them as M1a parts and will they ship to Canada, all legally of course as the M1a is a sporting rifle and not on the restricted commerce list...I'll just give them a call and ask some friendly questions, then try to spend some money before my #### falls off!!!
Just ordered mine from Boyds. The lady I spoke to asked if people had been emailing / passing the word around up here in Canada since I was the 5th order so far today! Explained to her about CGN.
Thanks Grizzlypeg!
Sounds like you are best off calling Boyds and making the order over the phone.
