Any Third Reich Collectors out there?
I just spent the better part of my Saturday (7 Hours) at Landsborough Auctions helping them catalog a very small % of the items up for auction next month.
There is tons on Nazi memorabilia, daggers, medals, badges, uniforms, arm bands , flags, etc...
I managed to get through maybe 10 % of the German stuff and I am compiling a list of the daggers that range from an NSKK chained dagger to RAD Dagger, SS stuff the whole 9 yards. Pictures of Rommel, SS Posters, Belt buckles, helmets, tie pins from the SA, SS, Hitler youth, the list goes on & on.(Iron Cross's, Kreigsmarine etc...)

There is also a huge variety of Canadian and British, American badges , buttons, uniforms, pictures, hat pins, belts with buckles, buttons medals, Propaganda posters.......the list goes on and on. (Short on details cause I have not even had a chance to go through the stuff)

I'm going back tomorrow and help plow through some more!
Check the Landsborough Auctions web site for more details.
Auction date is scheduled for February 16th & maybe 17th.

Just finished another 6 hours sorting through more cool stuff.
There are 50 - 60 Helmuts (German WWI & WWII, British, American)
Lots of assorted bayonets and knives from all over.
A vast collection on Canadian & British Military badges and insignia on boards.
Uniform buttons, Canadian, British & American medals.
Reference Books, posters etc..
The list goes on & on.

The preview will be on Friday February 15th.
Auction on Saturday February 16th. (Bring your own truck!)

Yeah I got lots of that stuff. Much of it is in my family but much I've also acquired myself. I don't have pics of it all.

I was given the same paper money when I was Lithuania back in 1992 lots of german stuff there including a bunch of stuff I found on the ground .

I was at an auction 2 days ago with 50 nazi items. I found prices much higher than I pay. A Police sword/scabbard with 28% added $520, I had one at 400. Jagger buckle no tab even, but very nice $280, I just got last week Werhmacht 1940 belt buckle tab in v.good cond 25 bucks, worth 100. SS dagger/scabbard and no chain went for $1950 total which is about right. Luftwaffe sword 1st pattern around $1000 2nd pattern $800.good prices. Complete Naval went for $900 total,v good deal.
Anyways no bargins, however to the serious collectors looking for correct makers marks and good cond. these items were mostly worth the money paid.

Only thing I have is a Deutchland Erwacht book. (2nd edition, since Ernst Rohm is not in it.) ;) "Liberated" by an Uncle who had the fun of participating in the battle of the bulge.

Problem with a lot of that stuff is the factories closed down in 1945, but when Americans wanted souveniers, they called everyone back, and started up using the same folks, the same dies, and the same material.
Even now, when collector magazines point out the fakes, the fakers read the same magazines and alter a new batch of fakes.

I guess if it's handed down in the family, you can be sure it's the real thing.

When my step-father gave me some medals, he truly didn't know anything about them. He told me they were Canadian military medals... I thought "Boy that's a bold move by the Canadians, putting a big eagle and swastika on their medals and writing in German on them. But then again, I suppose everyone back then put eagles and swastikas on everything."

I realized that although they were from a Canadian soldier, they were souvineers taken off enemy soldiers in trade or in battle.

Lmao ,that would be a bold move.

I love the history of the world wars. I need a nice german dagger like this one on the far left in the photo.

I want it to go opposite my FS dagger second pattern.

It is a shame that you have to explain to people that you are interested i history and not a neonazi if you are interested in these artefacts. Even then you are still considered suspect. What most of these people fail to realize is this is Canadian history. Also the Nazis had some fascinating kit. I find the soviet gear just as interesting but that does not make me a commie. I love the difference in personality between the Germans and the Soviets.

I love that lighter.

Here is a piece of German kit I have always admired.

A much more practical knife is the Hitler Youth knife. Nothing beats a single edge with a full height flat grind for practicality. No wonder the Boy Scouts adopted it.

Thanks for the photos and I would love to see more as well as some info about the auction etc?

I am a Graduate student in History right now. I'm also a bit of an antiquarian. Some of my relatives fought in the SS and Luftwaffe, some in the Canadian military!

I have a collection of Nazi and Soviet medals from relatives from both sides! The Soviet ones are a dime a dozen - heck they gave you a medal for learning to tie your shoe.

Lots of coins too. I collect way too much stuff.

Unsub - the german fighting knife your looking for is in the auction C96 has been cataloging. You can go to w w w.theauctionadvertiser.com + go to landsborough auctions, they have over 100 pics of what's in the sale.
