Will be nice to see the finished product. I recently picked up a Vincent 36 caliber rifle you built. I haven't had a chance to shoot it but I love the rifle.

You got a seriously sweet deal on a really nice gun there! It's silly accurate, but best pick up a delrin range rod, the hickory one is pretty thin.

Not bad - pretty much exactly what you would expect from a kit, castings were on the rough side, but that does not really matter - same amount of cleanup.

The stock, well... it's a pre-carved stock, bit of a warp in the fore end, no big deal, that should settle down. A couple of router dings that could not be carved/sanded out. The lock inlet was excellent - lock dropped right in as was the butt plate inlet.. The patch box needed some shimming as did the barrel channel. The trigger, side plate and thumb piece inlets were a different story. Off centre and the side plate was inlet too high

But - I have not seen a pre-carved stock that did not have most if not all those issues. I would rate the kit as exactly the same as any other supply house kit.... with a bit more cleanup on the castings.

Recommendations? Whenever ordering a pre-carve, have whoever inlet the barrel channel, ram rod hole and butt plate only. Poorly positioned side plates and lock inlets are nearly impossible to fix and you want to be able to fine tune the trigger / trigger guard position anyway. Also expect a pre-carve to be asymmetrical ... a fun side effect of a stock "duplicator"
